The mods should merge all the "tune" threads and make it a sticky. I would recommend searching for this as there is much debate over this topic. I don't think there is a clear "winner".

IMO ESS but I would also recommend cat delete, pulley, intake and then the tune. Like others will tell you search because there are numerous threads on this topic. Good luck.

Therefore, you'll need more than a tune to keep up. Quarter mile trap speeds suggest the coupe is on the order of 5-6 mph faster than the M3, which suggests that, out on the road, the Merc will simply walk away. You're going to need something close to an extra 50 HP. Intake, exhaust and tune ought to do it, or at least keep it close. Bruce |

Acceleration varies as per the cube root of the power to weight delta, which when translated means you need quite a bit more power (or reduced weight) to go a little faster and quicker. OK, just as an examnple, lets assume a good M3 can hit a trap speed of 114 mph in a quarter mile, while a good C63 can hit 119. 119/114 = 1.0439, times 1.0439, times 1.0439 = 1.1374. That means you'll need some combination of 13.7% increased power and/or reduced weight in order to hit 119 mph in a quarter mile, which in turn means you'll run roughly neck and neck with the Merc out on the road. Hmm, c63 has over 400 tq to the wheels above 3000 rpm. I don't think I ten will help you out very much

There are some forum sponsors that'll be happy to sell you a CF hood pretending it's much lighter than the OEM aluminum one. They charge plenty for it, and if you look at the fitment, it sucks. Even with the best installers it doesn't fit like OEM.
