Absolutely +1. But make sure you have the latest version. Mike updates it regularly. He will send it to if you email him (see Bimmer or Roundel for his email address). Good luck.

This might help in understanding the role the spark plugs play in the "Ion Current Combustion monitoring used in the S65 engine.
The Delphi PDF provides a description of their system (BMW does not use the Delphi system, but is similar). Last edited by kenwelch; 12-23-2012 at 09:10 PM. Reason: Images missing |

EDIT: Found a more updated version/2011. Seems he added more turbo car information and battery maintenance.

So I have an update on this thread! I go into my dealership today and requested my spark plug change be performed. The service advisor says to me "You know you don't need to do that right?" (keep in mind I am now at 51,000 miles). I stated, the manual says to complete it at 37,000 miles. The service advisor responds "The manual is created for all BMW M cars and for your car you don't need to do it unless the car tells you to." Now I feel like i'm losing my sanity as I respond "Well just do it.." I didn't feel like going into the fact that the CBS does not tell you when your spark plug change is needed and it is clearly shown in the manual that it is not displayed on the CBS.
Am I dealing with inept people or am I being too harsh? |
