6 Speed Manual - Left/Right Drive Flange Replaced

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone on here has ever had an issue with the transmission drive flange leaking? Is this a common issue? Is it considered a major issue if it has occurred?

Thanks for the help

This may be associated with the differential, I'm going on a old service record from a used car I'm looking at and there isn't much detail. Hope you can help......

One of my differential output flange seals was leaking. Is that what you are seeing? It's fairly common and innocuous.

I just changed the right side diff to axle seal on my 99M3. Took me about an hour and a half. Had to pull the rear swaybar to get the axle far enough out of the way to pull the diff ear out.
