looks like the GTR got the jump too. I wouldnt say "obliterate" but it's definitely quicker.

BS. They are not even in the same league.

0-60 on a 2012 is 2.9 and quarter mile 11.1-11.2, easlily reproduced by launch control.

2013 is down to 2.8 and 2014 down to 2.7, probably under 11 sec. in the quarter mile.

Guy in GTR either can't drive or something is wrong with the car.

It would be like saying a 911 Turbo S gets beat down by an M6.

if you took a minute to read the actual thread you would have notice that all the races where from a rolling start. yes the GTR is faster from 0-60 but then again by the time you setup your launch control and kiss your warranty goodbye the m6 would of been of the line.

Launch control isn't even necessary to outrun the m6. Also, it's a lot easier to set up than on m3/m6. Rolling start or not. Warranty is a nonissue these days, but people who are ignorant about the gtr tend to base this off misinformation from the internet/forums.

Straight-line speed wise, they absolutely are. The M6 can hit 124mph trap speeds in the quarter mile on a cold track. Definitely comparable to the 2012 GTR.

And largely meaningless in a roll-on race.

Yep. When presented with an actual video from an actual race, they refer you to some magazine articles that don't really compare these cars together.

Guys, it's a street race. The cars have similar power. Anything can happen.

Do you know anything about cars? An M6 might stand a chance against a 09 GTR but there is no way it could beat a 2012 and beyond. Not. Even. Close. Either the M6 was modified or the GTR was broken.

Nissan changed the warranty policy on LC years ago.

Wrong. Trap. Speeds. Don't. Lie.

Nissan changed the warranty policy on LC years ago. And an 12 GTR without LC will out accelerate an M6 with a launch. Both my 12 and 13 GTRs ran mid to high 3s to 60 and would be well south of 8 to 100 without using launch control.

Sorry an m6 doesn't trap that high. Only bogus publications like car and driver would ever show an m6 trapping at 124.

Went through the discussion at 6post and at the end was "not sure if serious". I just can't believe there are people that take this so seriously :-) Obviously, this was a street race with set rules and GTR lost. The next day, M6 might lose and we will have the same discussion the other way around. Arguing about 0.2 sec is pointless

+1, to add, insecure GT-R fanbois are even more funny. It's quite entertaining to see them grasp at straws to defend this specific M6 story. They can't seem to get over a M6 could beat the 2012 GT-R in that specifc roll-on street race where 0-60 doesn't mean jack (but no, let's quote it again, again, and again...)

haha.
