rotor temps
i have a semi-cheap laser temp gun that i use primarily on my tires. doesnt have a reflectivity setting so is it ineffective at rotor temps as i was told yesterday at the track? reason i ask is im reading 600 temps which is great but when i came off a friend with a different gun saw my rotors glowing blue and tested with his gun and it wouldnt read it because it was over 1000. This was after a cool down lap as usual and pulling to my spot in the paddock so im guessing that means 1200 or more on the track?

To get any value out of temp data (tires or rotors) you can't do a cool down lap. Just pull into the hot pits and quickly take a temp reading. The cool down lap totally changes the readings.

Yep I realize that but being at 1000 after a cool down lap is a significant piece of data.
