There is one on eBay. It looks almost legit.

I bet that whoever did this cradle just hacked a Lightning cable into the USB socket there.

Lol but look at how legit the box is. I also remember that even with the iphone 4 cradle, some people also couldn't get video out on their media dock. I didn't look into since I didn't have a cradle in my old car.

Even if this was an iPhone 4 cradle with a hacked lighting cable how would one cradle the phone? The iPhone 5 is longer.

Interested in the true information to this subject.

One thing that does get me is why isn't there any regulatory markings. It's required even in Europe unless I am greatly mistaken

It also doesn't have the cooling fan which the legit units have. I'd still be interested tho, but that price is steep for non-oem.

You can't play video with the cable. And the cradle looks so much nicer than having the phone on the cable. I have a six year old daughter I'll put movies on for on longer rides so she doesn't get bored. I also have a ton of music w videos. It's just a neat thing to have w BMW Apps.
