Your result could be due to the fact that you drive on the wrong side of the road.

Not only have they won awards, they are widely praised by auto journals around the world. Say what you will about MB but to suggest their engines are anything short of brilliant is ignorant. ![]() P.P.S. I'll add my standard clause... I love the M3 and believe it is an amazing car. Miss mine often. It's a better track car than the C63. However, ignorant posts like MLoyalty's drive me nuts and any true auto enthusiast who appreciates cars would know better.

This race was doomed from the start, as shown in the vid above. I love the versatility of a vert, but they are not drag racing machines...aside from maybe the new SL63 (ugly as sin tho...).
However, isn't a loaded C63 significantly more expensive than a loaded M3? When I got my M3 in 2010 (e90), a comparable C63 (non-P31) was over $10,000 more...that's a lot of performance mods for the M at the same price point as a stock C63. With that cash put into the M, you would not have too much trouble outpacing a stock C63 P31. I have no doubt that mod-for-mod, the C63 will be faster (4.0L vs 6.2L). I mean, a tune alone netting the AMG 50 or 60HP and torque is disgusting for an NA motor. But $-for-$ in total cash spent on purchasing the car and applying mods, the M3 is certainly appealing!

Damn does the E93 weight affect it that much, comparing the two videos.

Here is a C63 with the PP option and the M3 coupe... bottom line is the base C63 is close to the M3 but with equivalent drivers a little faster in a straight line. The C63 with PP is notably faster. Who cares though, drag racing is so blah

The C63 got the jump but this is what I expected vs the other video with the M3 coupe winning. So an E90/92 with cat delete bolt on and a tune should be pretty close to a C63 Amg. Like I said before Op needs supercharger to compete with the Merc.

I would have thought it would be worse. Yes it was an ass whipping. No doubt the C63PP is notably faster, but keep in mind this is a 6MT M3, and it appears that the M3 driver could have started in a lower gear. Perhaps an FBO DCT, starting at higher rpm's, can do better (still will loose to a C63PP, though).

To me, though, this stuff isn't all that important. I don't measure my manhood based on stop light races I would still pick the M3 as a track oriented car and a C63 as a DD street car (although the M3 is great for that too). Both are very fast (more than needed for public roads) and even if the C63 with PP is a little faster it doesn't really matter that much unless someone just "needs" to win the next stop light race to fuel their ego.

C63PP is approx. equal to a tuned C63 based on all reports I have read. But, the result is about what you would expect... a FBO DCT M3 = C63PP.

Well if the C63 has 451 Hp & 444 T
M3 has 414 Hp & 295 T Intake stage 2 = plus 15hp x-pipe = plus 21hp at the end you'll have 450 hp but not the T weight may help, but the C63 is a Monster, i had one before super storm sandy = ( NOW i got an M3, which is a great car. |

If the C63 came with a stick or a DCT I would have gone that way. I'm not fond of slushboxes though and while the one there seemed as good as I have tried I just don't like em. And yeah, I know all the numbers, just don't like em, its an opinion.
In fairness however the dealer would not let me flog the car so it was hard to get a good feel for it. I know it sounds bizarre but I'm thinking of checking out the E55 when it shows up in 14 with the DCT. That may be my new daily.

Why not just enjoy your car for what it is and lets all just accept our penis size? I'm kidding, but seriously there will always be a faster car.

Go FI and very few cars on the road will be able to touch you. Won't even be close in most cases. I'm still waiting on a good run as the RS4/5s, AMGs (C63, E63) and Ford GT have been the only notable cars I've run against since upgrading my blower. The distance I put on them was insane....awesome feeling
especially when we get to start at ~80mph. No traction issues and a lot of cars can be quick in double digits but struggle above 100.I did get owned by a 370z that must have been single or twin turbo when I had my old kit. Nice and stealthy with an almost stock looking car and painted intercooler. I was like WTF and then we had a friendly chat off the highway. I don't remember his exact numbers but ~700whp sounds familiar.

Still an equally valid comment regardless as to who made it... but thanks for pointing out I currently own a C63
