KW S/O kit, Corner Balancing, Alignment and Driving Impressions

Thought I would post pics of newly installed KW Sleeve over spring kit, Corner balancing with 140 lbs in drivers seat and new alignment. The aligment was kept the same, Camber-F/R -2.5/-2.0; Toe-F/R .10/.20 degrees; Castor-factory settings

The front was lowered approx 3/8 inch and rear was lowered approx 1/2 inch more than previous Eibach pro-kit springs. The ride IMO is just as comfortable as Eibach springs, except being much lower and more responsive to steering input. All three modes of the EDC felt distinct and about the same as with Eibach springs.

I will be tracking at Motorsports Ranch in Cresson, TX this weekend and will report back on how the KW S/O kit handles on track. This will be a new track for me so I will most likely not break any track records. HaHa!

I know the diehards will say the Clubsport was the way to go, but I will soon be having to add a baby seat in back and keeping the EDC (comfort mode) then makes more sense. Also with the KW S/O, I get to keep my existing Vorshlag camber plates which I love.

Installation, Corner balancing and Alignment were done by Driver Source in Houston, 281-479-1000

nice. thinking im getting the new swift spec-r to use instead of going full coilovers for now. will allow a little more negative camber once im lower.

Cool! I will have to check these out. I have a used set of Eibach Pro-kit springs if you are interested. I installed them last June when I started hitting the tracks.

okay havent purchased yet but they are a decent introductory price. what i hate about springs is the rear is already low enough in comparison with the front and the drop is always almost the same front to rear. they should be dropping the front an inch and the rear none for my taste.

Actually, for the track it is better to drop front and rear equally. The rake stance causes more weight shift during braking due to more of the rears weight being above the cars hypothetical center of rotation. At least this is what I am being told.

Thanks for posting this up and confirming that the Vorshlag fits KW S/O with no problems.

Your setup for double duty is exactly what I had in mind.

NP! I am very pleased with the ride on street so far. I may be a tad firmer than Eibachs but still very good.

the springs still have to settle so it will lower a lil more correct?, in the pictures are you the lowest setting in the front? also is the ride "bouncy' at times? also when you got your alignment done did you really need to adjust the camber that muhc?

i ask this because im torn between this setup for my edc or going full coilovers with camber plates and a edc module of some sort

The front and rear are a couple turns from min height. Since I was corner balancing they left a couple turns for adjusting balance. No the ride surprisingly is not bouncy. The EDC shocks in comfort mode seems up to the task for these spring rates. I was debating this also, but went with the KW S/O to keep EDC and my camber plates. Camber is adjusted for the track, not really for street because of inside tire wear.

Yes, I used the PSS for corner balancing instead of my track tires because they were less worn and almost new.

Congrats! I had the same purpose with the KW S/Os when I put them on my car. Loved them when I had them on the track!

Only thing to be aware of is these will wear out your dampers if you go to the track a lot. I had them on for 30 days and my dampers started to feel the effects. The biggest indicator was during high speed turns going into a front straight, the car would ever so slightly bob more than it used to and have that squishy effect.
