If you are worried about the carbon fiber just look at the M6. Its been out with a carbon fiber reinforced roof for a while now, so that would give you a good frame of reference.

Why would would I want C-F on my car when every ricer in our area has a carbon fibre hoodAnd the real point is that I want the sunroof!

I am buying the car as a daily driver that will be a nice everyday driver that is somewhat quick. If I wanted a trackday toy I would just buy a C6-Z06 that weighs 3200lbs and be a crappy everyday car..Besides all cars are slow compared to a modern Superbike and that is where I go for a real rush!

I loved my E46 M3 as a allround car and I am sure the E92 will even be much more satisfying and I am really looking forward to it arriving.

That's a salient perspective. On these forums whe get down to analyzing seconds on the 'Ring and tenths to 60, but how many of us will use this car these fine points are not the important ones. If I can't look at the stars coming home on some warm summers night, hundredths of a second on the track may pale. The allure of the cool stuff is still there, though.

I used to worry about stuff like that, but now I just want a fun enjoyable everyday ride.I grew up around 7000+ rpm small block chevs,so the appeal pf an 8400rpm V8 that is usable in everyday use is way too much to resist

There is a lot of very cool stuff on this car besides the C-F roof and I find it to be an intriging car in so many aspects.

I used to do a lot of car track stuff and to race a E30 325is in the early 90's and have modified street cars to make them more track able in the past.Every time I did ,I found them to be much less enjoyable for my everyday use,so that is why I buy factory "set up cars" and just use them and enjoy. If I do not like them its time to off it and move on to something else.

What's with the runflats? I didn't think the M3 would have this.
I remember some video that showed the trunk of the car and they said "see, no spare, because it has runflats".

No, it doesn't have runflats. And it has no spare because it has the useless tyre repair kit to save weight.

Leather seats are standard on the Carreras. I don't know about the rest of the model line- up. Full Leather is optional. It is pricey, but it is also beautiful. Full Leather gets you leather dash, doors, rear quarters, rear seats, etc... It's beautifully stitched too. So, leather IS standard on any 911.

So, then you are saying that leather is standard on the front seats only? Rear seats are optional?

Its a bit odd, they list it within the option list, but on the wheel/tire page no mention of it.

I would guess its just a typo .... mmm ....

Make mine a 2010 BMW M3:

- Jerez Black
- Individual Rust Brown Extended Leather/Red Brown Wood (somehow I'm getting it regardless if BMWNA officially brings to the USA the Individual Program of not)
- Individual Audio System
- MDrive Package
- ZSG (or whatever is the final name of BMW's DSG-type transmission)
- E46 ZCP 19" wheels (after purchase)

Yes. Although, as I'm sure you are aware, the rear seats are basically useless anyway. Even though the rear seats are not leather, they do not look cheap. When optioning the 'Full Leather' package, it is the leather dash, doors and quarters that make the difference. I am not aware of any other manufacturer that offers anywhere near this amount of leather as standard.

My only point was that to make a true comparison, it would be unecessary to add the leather package to the Porsche. The basic interior is similar to any other interior with leather.

WHEW!!!!!!
You only pay more for the individual program - not for the colors that are already available for the typical build sheets. The order guide was just suggesting that FR wouldn't be a good match for SSII. There is a little blue tint in SSII and the Germans find mixing red with SSII a little offensive. Order it the way you want it but don't get sucked into paying more...

In Canada, at least, Adaptive headlights and heated seats are standard on the e92 coupe, so no reason to believe that the M3 will be different. I hope that front PDC will be an option only. Does one really NEED PDC on a 3 series, especially the M3 (apart from the inevitable poseurs, that is?)

I believe that HD/Sirius will be optional (pre-wiring is standard on e92s), as will be the UGDO and Bluetooth (already an option on e92s).

With the e46, tons of stuff was standard in Canada, that was optional in the US, leading to a final price that was less than in the US (factoring conversion rates only, of course). I had to sign a form stating I would not sell the car to the US when I purchased my e46 M3!

Well I can bet it will be the exact opposite this time around, BMW won't be taking into account our 94cents to the USD anytime soon!!
