Correct me If im wrong, but this is the segment that applies to the current situation. I check out clean since the sticker was on the other side of the windshield, and not on the lower corner.

Regardless, no sane human being can claim that this contour of letters obstructs my view. Nobody. Because it doesnt.

But yes, i will buy another one. Perhaps even 2, just incase this happens again and i can put it on immediately after they sign it off xD
You've actually got it backwards. The section you quote is an exemption to the general prohibition in 26708 (a)(1), to wit: "A person shall not drive any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied upon the windshield or side or rear windows."

The exemption for the seven-inch section of the lower part of the windshield doesn't apply to you, both because your sticker is in the upper part and is way more than seven square inches.

Unfortunately you are guilty under the letter of the law, as inscrutable as it is.

Obviously a more reasonable officer may not have hassled you for that, but I agree with other people that it probably was the German flag which got them riled up. We Americans tend to be a patriotic sort, and given the unfortunate association with German nationalism and a certain World War, I don't think your sticker aroused the warmest of feelings among this particular LEO. Just my 2 cents.

Actually a law is a law. And yes you might not think it does, but yes it does create a blind spot on that side. Maybe not while your looking straight, but when you look to your right. A person walking or standing can disappear behind the sticker.

Moral of this story, you should just relax. The cop was just doing their job. No reason to call them bad names just because you had to remove a $20 sticker if that

There are 1,000's of laws that go unenforced daily, and many are truly ridiculous. Also, there's such a thing as officer discretion and that's what's usually the problem. This "just doing my job" crap has got to stop and we have to get back treating each other like people again and that has nothing to do with the "law"

and please, yes there's tons of laws and officer can use discretion. OP has had numerous threads about PD; is anyone surprise he gets fucked with? I'm sure it's deserved. Or OP is just bad luck

I bet if OP posts this on MFEST you may get some sympathy. Maybe MFEST will send you a free decal.
