OEM X-pipe Mod

Has anyone just cut out the stock cats and replaced them with straight pipe or resonators. Performance-wise, how would this compare to the other catless x-pipes out there? Are there any disadvantages, is the stock piping diameter less than optimal? Would the sound be similar to stock if two or four resonators were added in addition to the oem resonators, or still quite raspy?

Yes, it's been done. Performance should be very similar to an aftermarket x-pipe. Adding resonators will always decrease rasp.

Vishnu got 13 rwhp and 28 lbs rwtq from deleting the cats on a stock x-pipe, with no changes to the tune and no water/meth.

I think test pipes alone have been tested to show greater horsepower gains, but do not have links at hand to those dynos.

Does anyone know the lengths of the stock primary and secondary cats? What resonators are commonly used, are some better than others?

Seems way above average.
