are the brakes the same size as the OEM?

The rotors are the same size as OEM. the front Calipers have a 4 pot caliper that has a larger contact area for the pad (I'm pretty sure).

Looks good. Some are calling this a BBK but if the rotors are the same I would imagine this not to be a real BBK but an OEM replacement that has more pistons. Feel free to correct me if I am seeing this picture wrong.

calipers seem a bit smaller than the OEM in the pics.

i was wondering the same thing, this is a perfect upgrade from OEM size brakes with more stopping power without going BBK.

Larger disc will generally have better thermal management. However, just as important is the material the discs are made of...not all metal is the same or equal.
Brembo and AP have their own special formulas that are both track and street proven. Guess you will have to see how these hold up...better then some other cases we have found on the internet.

Not sure about that. Either way, OEM caliper outside diameter is huge. This doesn't mean less pad friction area on the new brakes.
I can vouch that the braking force is improved over OEM. I'm not sure how efficiently they will dissipate heat on the track though. I guess we have to wait and find out.

Racing brake offers 380 mm rotors aswell but I decided to go with 360 mm to prevent fitment issues with 18 inch wheels

I haven't had any issues and I DO look at my brakes at least once a week. I'll keep everyone in the loop as spring comes around. I'm still 100% happy with my setup.

It have seen this article before but to be honest I feel it does not affect the BMW community as of yet. These life threatening issues are very serious. But until I start seeming problems with the e92 m3 racing brake kits my comments will remain nutural on the quality of the product. Keep in mind these kits are car specific therefore racing brake had the time and opportunity to learn from their customer feedback and improve on the product. I promise you one thing, these brakes will be removed from my car as soon as anyone of the m3 community members has an issue with leaks or cracking rotors.

Here is Warren from RB. We did respond to the incident/claim with a complete true story covered in the following thread which I don’t have to repeat however, please understand being a mfgr, we only make the brake parts, how they are installed, maintained and used are out of our control. Although we would like to help/resolve any issue even if it’s not our fault however we expect a mutual respect than a forceful threat which was totally not acceptable and we must denounce it.

As to how RB brakes stand on track, I suggest you check us out in some of the highly intensive track communities such as RX7, NSX, EVO and Corvette (Z06) and see how RB brakes performed and lasted against other brands.

Upon Howard Coleman’s request, RB developed and released the front and rear balanced brake kits for RX7 in 2007. As of today still no replacement discs sales for us. Below is a typical in depth performance review in RX7 forum. Go over it and ask RX7 owners why they were switching their AP and Stoptech kits to RB:

I had a chance to really test the brakes out today under heavy acceleration and hatd braking. Exactly as expected. Solid performer. I might be upgrading to 380mm rotors if racing brake gives me a discount.
