Michelin PSS or Nitto NT-05?
I had NT-05's on my Cayman S and was pretty happy with them. The rears survived about 18k miles with 6 autocross days and 2 track days before they were down to the wear bars. They had great traction right up to the end. My last hurrah with them was a track day at Watkins Glen.
I'm switching shortly over to my winter tires, but am already planning on my wheel/tire combo for the Spring. Although I liked the NT-05's, they did get pretty noisy towards the end. I actually didn't mind the ride quality either. However, I understand that the PSS will be superior in terms of ride quality and noise. And wear, I'd assume? My question is how much grip will I be sacrificing at the track and autocross with the PSS's? That's my main concern, and the very slightly higher price.

Interesting, and I'm guessing you're in a more advanced run group?
I just was recently solo'd so I still have a long ways to go... That said, I loved the grip on the NT-05's! The only time it was an issue was at Lime Rock when they were newer (~300 miles) and were a little greasy in tight transitions.

Never ran the PSS before but I have a set on order! Hopefully doesn't get greasy as fast as the RE11. Given the treadwear rating, my expectations are not very high... |

I had NT05s on a previous car and I have PSS on my E90. I loooved the turn-in and response of the NT05 and comfort was excellent until you get about halfway through the tread and then they get real loud. If I were a track regular I would definitely consider the NT05 again and it doesn't hurt that they're pretty cheap. Terrible wet tire though.

I am leaning towards the PSS. Slightly more expensive than the NT05, but should last almost twice as long.

6 autocross days + 2 track days does not equal 8 track days. Autocross is nothing.
