Iphone - bluetooth audio problem

hi,

I have an issue with the bluetooth audio sometimes does not work.

I got it to work for a while.. then I change my audio source to cd/radio and now I could not get it to work again. I tried to re-paired the phone again, and still nothing. Under the bluetooth setting, I can see the phone icon lit up but not the audio icon. The phone audio is working just fine.

I believe I have IOS 4.

Any thought on what went wrong?

Nope. I keep it in my pocket.

And the confusing part is, I did get it to work before for a while... by accident..

I can do streaming audio from slacker radio to the idrive.

So you can stream Slacker but not something else?

I just use slacker at that time... I did not try the ipod function....

Any idea what is wrong, or any tricks that I accidentally used before?

Hey I have iPhone update iOS 6.0.1 and my Bluetooth works fine. Might wanna update ur phone.

I have iOS 6.0.1 and I still cannot get music to play through bluetooth. Any suggestions? Time for the dealer?

Is your phone setup in the iDrive to play music or only be used as a phone?

Looking at the Options menu, Bluetooth Info is not shown as selectable. No other options specific bluetooth use for music can be found on iDrive. I also could not find anything in the manual about pairing for music use. However, I know this is an option for this car. Help!

What is your built date for the car? I seems like you don't have combo box option.

I have ios6 and mine does the same thing randomly. I have to delete it on the phone, re-search and re-pair it and then it works again.

Everytime you plug the phone into the USB port, it disconnects the Bluetooth audio for some reason... It's really annoying.

Go back into telephone or devices or something and hit that options button... You'll see a check box for Bluetooth audio you can check.

May 2010 build date. I'm at the dealer now trying to resolve. Dealer I bought it from was adamant that my car had this feature.

That's how the system works from the factory. If it's plugged in, there is no need for BT audio.

What feature, bluetooth audio? I'm afraid to say that I think your dealer is wrong. Bluetooth audio did not become available until the combox was introduced starting with Sept 2010 production. I specifically delayed my order to make sure I got the combox for this and some other features that were exclusive to the combox...

There's an easy way to know if you have it or not. Just open the trunk and check under the carpet in the back.

Crushing news gents! The dealer here in FL also confirmed I do not have the Combox. What's the ballpark $ to make this upgrade?

I've had the same issue. Got the car two weeks ago, bt audio worked fine for about 2 days. Then it stopped and I can't get it to recognize it again. Latest iOS, etc....
