My New Forgestar F14s
Ordered these Forgestar F14's in semi-gloss brushed gunmetal last week from PatrickG@SonicTuning and I received them yesterday. Smoothest transaction ever, the guy provided great service and was in constant communication with me for updates. I highly recommend him and sonictuning.
As for the wheels... F14s 19x9 semi concave fronts and 19x10 deep concave rears. The photos are below.. not great pic quality - however will take more in the day time.. All I need is a drop now. Eyelids anyone? Last edited by abitrandom; 01-16-2013 at 10:33 AM. |

Its been a real long time since I have been a tire tech (more than a decade) but it looks like they screwed up on the balancing of your right rear. Maybe someone else can chime in...
Looks like they balanced it, applied weights and then the machine called for more weight in a different place so they applied more weight. Like I said, I am no tech anymore... anyone??? If the wheel is truly calling for that much weight, perhaps you can rotate the tire on the wheel 180 degrees to offset the weight distribution on the tire and wheel.

Yeah, it definitely doesnt look right imo... maybe he was new or just didnt know exactly what he was doing... but I would take them back and say you are getting vibrations and have them remove all the weights and rebalance. When I was a tech we would never apply that much weight without rotating the tire or trying other measures to get the weight down. And maybe things have changed in the past decade but there shouldnt be gaps between the weights on the same side of the wheel or a second layer of weights... and you appear to have both.

There is one picture that shows a semi close up of the right rear. In that pic you can see the gap between the weights... its hard to tell, but it also looks like they stacked the weights on top of each other or perhaps it was two rows... imo, we wouldnt have done either.

Definitely have that one rebalanced. It will be a little bit more difficult since the dot is gone but it should be better than that. Seems like the heavy side of the tire may be near the TPMS so that's what he was trying to counteract with all of the weights.
The shaking steering wheel is related to the fronts (obviously). Having them road force balanced should solve the issue.
