$52k before I added a 5yr extended warranty & maintenance and other options like tint, trident, lux, gap etc. which brought it up to $61k

True, you can't buy a new m3 for $52k, but I think the going rate for 2009 is between $43-$48. Granted yours has only 9k miles. I would enjoy it and not think about how much you paid. I bought mine new in oct/2012. less than a week later, BMW came out with all the various promotions and had I waited, I would have paid $2000 less. I think of it as $2000 paid for the one I wanted and not having to settle for anything less. Congrats on your new to you toy!!!

Just double checked the paper work and it was $51,250 and it had 8,794 miles on it. It's fully loaded so I don't feel it was over priced for a car with such low milage. Most 2009's are going to probably have at least 3x as many miles.

What I meant is that for $61k (your total for car + warranty/maint) you could buy a new one which would obv come with full manufacturer warranty and maintenance.

I understand what you're saying but new ones aren't $62k either, unless you are getting it bone stock. The one I was going to get brand new was $74k and then another 2-3k for add-on like tint, gap insurance, etc. so around $77k out the door which is a $15k difference. Had I not purchased all the add-on for the 09' it would have been a reasonable deal for a low milage car. I also traded in both my other cars and got a super low interest rate so it ended up saving me like $800 a month, so I'm happy regardless.

Everyone has a different thought process. Some are willing to pay $15k more for a new car, some thinks it's stupid. I was in a similar situation last year. Buy used 2011 with all the options for $59k and 24k miles. Or new for $68k. I went with new for $68k. Some would have said I was stupid, some would have done the same thing I did.

$52k vs $74k for 3 year old car is a much bigger gap, but did you get a great deal? Probably not. The key is that you're happy with your purchase. Which sounds like you are. Congrats on that. I definitely would have went 68k new. That's the same route I went

Anyways, what's the point of GAP insurance on a used car unless you had no down payments whatsoever?

I know I didn't get the deal of the century on it but I also feel I paid a good price for it (under $50k including CPO). I will gladly pay a little extra for a clean car with very low miles and a good service history.

Well done sir! The lowest they went for me was $49900 and it sounds like you may have bested that! Nice work. I didn't want to pay more than $47,000 for a 2009. I offered $48,000 just because it was local but that didn't pan out. I figure I have all winter to source me another one and when I do we should have a photo shoot. Speaking of photo ops you should post a picture of the E92 next to your Stang... if it stayed local that is.

Seems a bit high. I recently got a 2010 with ~18k miles and pretty much all the same options you listed above for 47k + Tax. The car was in mint condition inside and out and it's a coupe which i believe are usually more expensive than the 4 door. PERSONALLY if it was me i would tell the seller 46.5k out the door (around 42k before tax/fees).

That i believe is a fair price for you and the seller.

Unfortunately we pay 13% tax in Canada. So 46.5K out the door would be approx 40K before taxes. I was thinking of offering 43+tax.

Any feedback from Canadian buyers if this price is fair?
