Clear Bra Comparison test

This is a great test of the leading brands for clear protection film on the market now.

Wow, 3M is the best. Confusing since Ventureshield is a 3M product.

Ventureshield was its own company. 3M purchased Ventureshield and continues to market and sell the product in the same way as before.

3M is known for being hard to install as the film is less flexible... but as the test shows, it is good in other areas... And it is one of the ugliest films with tons of orange peel and lumpy texture speaking from personal experience. Trade-offs!

Good video to show people that there are differences between films that look similar, but the products tested in the video are fairly old.

Not only have Avery and Llumar released improved products, but there are a couple of other companies that have released films far more durable than anything tested in the video.

Here's an example of some of the technology that is being used in some of the newer films (not to mention better stain resistance):

(sorry, can't get the video to embed)

For the products shown in the video above, it is the latest from those brands. Ventureshield Ultra, Avery Nano-Fusion and Llumar. The video was made about a half year ago.

You sure on that? The guy mentioned in the video products that he said came out in 2009.

I am pretty sure it is new. The post date is April 2012. In the youtube comments, the poster mentions the Xpel Ultimate which he didn't include in the video but would like to test as well. Paint protection film isn't refreshed every year.

This is what I'm getting next on my car.

http://www.xpel.com/ My local shop is the only one in WA carrying it and it looks great.

Anyone with this product?

Xpel Ultimate is great - not sure if they're still offering the older films but you should definitely get Ultimate if they still have both.

Yes, hands down the best! Expel or go home!
