No way a 570whp M3 DCT should lose to a 520whp Camaro manual, the M3 is a bit lighter, has a lot better transmission and has 50whp more!!

Only thing I can see is if the M3 was missing some boost due to really low air density, pulley driven supercharged cars get much more affected by DA then N/A or turbo cars!

No matter what, impressive performance from the Camaro!

maybe the SC m3 has a boost leak... I was in a similar boat when I raced my buddy's 5.0, it wasn't FBO, but had full exhaust, intake and a tune. I pulled him, but not by much. Later i fixed the boost issue and it was quite a bit more.

I've tuned rectangle port LS motors than I can count that made similar power with the same mods as the one in the vid, and internals don't gain power anyhow lol.

Cool... im just saying claimed WHP does not matter in these informal street comparisons unless accompanied by dyno sheets from the same dyno with the same conditions... I could claim I dynoed my E90 at 250whp and go on to beat someone with an E46 making a real 270whp in some random youtube clip.

I don't know LS motors... however I would imagine that NA mods like cams, higher compression, and bore/stroke increases would increase power... those would be considered internals right

He admits to having a cam, but in their world internals is pistons, rods, and crank which unless you have a stroker motor only add strength, not power. I don't doubt the mods on the Camaro but I am wondering if the M was heat soaked or having some other type of problem with this run.

saw a comment about him running NOS also somewhere. on one of his videos he was on the same level as 550whp supercharged 5.0 and he was only pushing 500whp.

From the Camaro owner.

"Camaro does'nt have any nitrous, yet... I will be putting 200 shot in 1-2 months. Yes it has a big cam (G6X3) which helped alot during the powerband, but actually 4th is the gear that kills camaro's acceleration, because it is too damn long"

I've had a G6X3 cam in my own personal vehicle once before, I have no reason to suspect the Camaro trying to hustle, I suspect something didn't go according to plan with the M.

Pretty sure more than 1 person can have a matte blue wrap (especially cause it looks awesome).... The car you're thinking of is Tightie's Gintani Stage 3 M3 (also has a matte blue wrap)

You make it sound like EVERY M3 owner is on the forums. The video also shows from 30-40 secs that an ESS kit is installed (poor lighting, but it's easily identifiable by the blower bracket).

If you want to dispute anything, it's whether this was actually a 625 kit and/or producing the 570 RWHP.


It's not like the M3 walked the Camaro (M3s basically at the Camaro's trunk) & it's more than likely if they really would out the 2 cars, the M3 would eventually take the lead.

The M3 performance vs the SS seemed more like a 575 kit in my opinion. With a 625 kit the SS should have been beaten. If it is indeed a 625 kit the SS had more mods than stated or the M3 not running to optimal power, No matter what props to the SS for taking he win and shame on the supercharged, DCT M3.
