Jeeez, thats way too much even including alignment !
$250-$300 should be enough unless you are getting them installed by the stealer .

Too much. Try someone else. For $800 you can drive to Malek here in SOCAL; he can do a fantastic job, get intrenched with his knowledge, and his enthusiasm for BMW.

Installing springs is pretty easy. Do you have a friend that has done it before that can help you out? If you are mechanically adept you can just follow a DIY and do it yourself.
The 250 quote from EAS is what i would consider a reasonable price (actually a pretty good price considering they are a well known reputable shop). A random shop would probably do it for 150-200

I'd say $300-$350 is the going rate. Any more is too much

I have noticed that shops specializing in M3 / BMW will charge around $300 because they can install springs very quickly. "Race" shops or those without a lot of M3 experience will trend towards $1000. It's a surprising range but, as with anything, once you learn the install "tricks" you can do the work much quicker / cheaper.

Most shops will charge 4-6 hours for the work, depending on if an alignment is included or not. Hourly rates can vary substantially, but range from our rate of $62/hour on the low end to ~$130/hour on the high end.
That would put a spring install at $248 at the low end, without an alignment, to $780 on the very high end with an alignment. At 4 hours of labor and an $800 total price, you are paying for a $200/hr labor rate, which is far far higher than any shop I have ever encountered. You may want to ask for the shop you're working with to clarify their hourly rate to you.
