The OPs settings sound way better than dirty souths. Just my 2 cents.
If you don't like the eq settings generated using high end professional equipment, then go create your own thread.

The only microphone adjustment in this particular OEM DIRAC system was done at development, according to BMW. There is no active microphone adjustment in this system, only speed- and bass-equalizations.
One feature that really changes the audio response of this system is the speed-adjustment (GAL). Anything above 1-square will change the EQ curve that you set above 40mph or so. This GAL implementation is the most aggressive that I have seen in all BMW systems.

Excellent thread. Thank you OP.
I made the following settings on my '09 E92 with premium sound. 100 Hz: 0 200 Hz: +1 500 Hz: +3 1k Hz: +4 2k Hz: -1 5k Hz: +3 10k Hz: +3 Bass: +2 Treble: +1 Fader: 0 Music from my SiriusXM Onyx Receiver is "brighter" and sounds great. I ended up using +2 on the Bass setting, it was just a little "boomy" for me.

There is no MIC in the car for DIRAC to be constantly adjusting. It was done at development, and it is now fixed.

Hi Malek,
Thanks for all your contribution. I tried the new ones on my e 93 but some how did not find those pleasing as before. Would u possibly have a Ss of previous one so I could revert to the original. Much appreciate. |

Which old settings are you referring to? The settings for the E92 car hasn't changed in a very long time in this thread.

I think that music from the 60's through the early 80's will sound different on any system because the equipment used back in the day was more simple. Guitars and drums with maybe a Sax. These days with all the very high tech sound and recording equipment, people still seem to enjoy driving around with a thousand dollars worth equipment making very, very loud base via boom boxes It wakes me up all the time, very late at night when they are trying to make it home afters a hard night of clubing. Once they hit the neighborhood, the volume goes up as if to signal a safe journey back home was successful, through cop infested highways (if it's the weekend)! ha!

I tried Malik's EQ settings and I like it versus the common "V" settings adopted from way back the 80's. I also read somewhere a long time ago that Balance should be set a tad to the right since we are positioned to the left side as to the Fader should be positioned a tad to the rear to compensate for your sitting position. I tend to agree with this and it I think it works. Thanks for the posting.
