How to Clean Black Rubber marks after track sessions

For you guys using mothers rubber remover- Are you buying it online or finding it at a local store like walmart, autozone, ect?

I have yet to find Mothers R3 in a local store. Seems like it might be some sort of a specialty item, maybe available at race/track shops but not regular distributors from what I gather. I wound up ordering it online, waited until one place had a free shipping sale (since the shipping was going to cost almost as much as the R3!). I noticed that Amazon often had it, but only in a 6 pack box... I suppose if you found a few friends locally to split it that might make sense.

I've used both Premier's TTR and Mothers R3, both have worked well for me.

Won't that strip your wax/sealant off? It sounds like its got polish in it.

If it removes rubber, I can't see how it wouldn't be removing your wax/sealer.

Spray Pam where the rubber accumulates before your track session it will come right off when you wash the car - drag racers have been doing it for years works great and does not damage the paint or remove any wax.

Does it? I would think it would sit on top of the wax. I've noticed that the rubber marks come off much easier when it has been recently detailed. But I'm not sure, I use a spray wax in between washes so its hard to tell.

I'm sure there's a molecular chemist M3 owner that can chime in now! I guess I just think that anything that can bind to paint and not wash off has to have more stick than wax, and would require solvents of some sort to remove.

Anyway, have you ever tried Rejex for your wax/sealant?

It doesn't remove the rubber build up, it keeps it from sticky/building up on the paint. You spray it on before the race, where you normally get the rubber build up, then when the race is done you wash the car and rubber comes right off. try it you'll see.

It would then be doing the job of a wax or sealant. R3 is meant to be used as a type of detail spray that eliminates the bond between the rubber and paint surface. You would get the same effect from bug and tar remover, solvent, or a polish.

Waxing your paint before a track/race day will impede the ability of hot rubber to adhere to your paint. Any product that is taking off the rubber is also going to impact the wax coat and is likely to cause micro marring as you would be collecting the tire mark in your microfiber and then dragging it across the paint.

I use near death polishing pads and PF106 to quickly rid my paintwork of exploded tire shards. Always wax after.
