Who parks close to you?

Walking back to my car after I went to the store and someone parks right next to me in a wide open parking lot.

Do you guys have any pictures of people parking right next to you in a wide open lot, or is it just me?

In my case I'll park far away from people and come back to a big ass lifting truck next to me. I laugh it off but it grinds my gears.

I always park far away from other cars no matter what I am driving. Learned the habit in college when my first car got destroyed in narrow spots.

8 times out of 10 when I come back someone has parked right next to me.

I am not sure if people are trolling me or its just what normal people do.

I know when I am in a rental car and I see a Hummer or some Porsche (usually) parked diagonal or across the lines I find it very entertaining to fit into the spot next to them no matter what. So I make sure to never park across the lines or diagonally myself, but people still decide to park next to me.

Also people have different parking philosophies. I always park in "edge spots" so I can get close to the curb/line and there is lots of room on the side. I know a lot of people who actually seek out nice cars to park next to because they figure they'll be more careful. I think that's a bad idea because I have seen careless luxury car owners kick their doors open into the car next to them just because they can.

If you look for people in Well cared for cars (even if they are old) you will hae a better chance than with a brand new S class driven by a careless old man. Anyway, it's better to just park far away if possible.

I remember a thread here if fin song a bimmer parked next to you, it had a few pics.

I had that happened once before. An asian mid-age woman came into a parking lot with her brand-new looking MB, out of hundreds of stalls available, she chose to park next to me. That's not the worst, when she opened her door she slammed on my passenger side door. Luckily, I was inside my car taking a phone call. I ran after her and she said she never hit my car with her door, plus she said to be very careful with her "expensive" MB. The woman then took off to the shopping mall and I went back to check my door, there was a ding and some scratches, but I guess I wasn't too concerned after all because the car I had already had too many ding & dents.

Not just my car but it even happens to me in a food court at the mall. There will be a hundred tables and chairs open but the person has to sit close to me. The world works in mysterious ways...

Is that a 1981 Dodge Omni, or, even rarer, its corporate sister the Plymouth Horizon? That car is a classic. Consider yourself honored, son.

"hypothetically" if i was in that situation...the lady would definitely not find her car in the same condition she left it
