He hasn't posted since 8/8. The way kids are with social media I bet he doesn't even have the car any longer or he would be on this site daily.

Congrats! Getting a car for your birthday is awesome but getting an M3 is amazing! Definitely get familiar with the car! Don't give in to people who might provoke you to do dumb things. The car gets a lot of attention and most of the time it's good but not always.

As a parent, I'd never give my son a M3 for his birthday. MAYBE if he graduated medical school or something that took some hard work to accomplish. But no way in hell I'd buy him one at 16!

Go ahead... Hate on me (again) for saying it. I don't care.

I agree 100%. I have a 16 yr old. He got a used 2008 Honda CRV and I could have bought him one. I never would. We even made him buy half. Since he spent his hard earned money you would think it was an M3. He baby's that thing.

Every parent is different.

I really don't like to see this at all. These kids should be driving and starting at the bottom like millions of other teens and earn the car. This kid should be driving a Honda Civic or Mazda 3. Plain and simple. I won't argue this.

Parents that were brought up in the 1970s and 1980s are weak minded and way to giving, not allowing their children to actually learn the value of the dollar.

Children in their teens, yes they are kids/children should not be driving a $70,000+ car. I don't care what you have to say about this. This is a fact.

I can see graduating from college but not from high school. I would not brag or even post this. When I was a teen at your age I would never have posted this. I for one had a Honda. Loved it and learned how to work on the car.

I do pay for gas insurance mods and maintenance on my m. As well as a percentage of the cost of the car.

And I haven't gotten a ticket (other than one front plate ticket which prompted me to get a tow hook mount)

If/when I have kids though they are getting some 1980 e30 or Volvo wagon. Fuck no no m3

Congrats!

I am sure you proved to your parents that you're responsible enough for such great 16th bday gift. I would do it too when my kids are 16th and responsible.

Your parents certainly loves you and please take care of yourself not to worry them. Enjoy and be careful out there Hurry and finish school, start saving and let the modding begin!

Congrats man! Im sure most of the guys here (including myself) are just a bit jealous that you would get such an amazing present for your 16th Bday.

I got a 1977 Chevy Nova for my 16th and loved the hell out of it!

Just please do 3 things for us..Take care of your car, appreciate your parents and recognize how fortunate your are, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep DSC on! Do all that and you will be just fine! Welcome to la familia!

This thread is 3, almost 4 years old, talk about a lot of delayed well wishes. I'm more curious where the car is today and how the now 19-20 yr. old thought it changed his life (better or worse), so crazy stories to go along with it would be a good follow up.
