Putting aside the M stickers on the lower front fenders it looks ok. Thankfully they didn't extend the strips to the bonnet! A least should have made it more special by upgrading brakes and perhaps performance reclining buckets

It's not that I don't like it. But it needed more from the parts bin... GTS wing, GTS front splitter, different wheels - or at least different finish on the wheels.. and that alone might tip more of a nod to the DTM car (yes I know the GTS wing is the FIA WTCC spec item, but at least it's off a racing car!)

The thing that is very odd and also the only positive thing going for it is the use of the carbon fiber boot lid. So random to put any R and D into a carbon fiber boot lid for one special edition run? Makes no sense. Anyway atleast that is SOMETHING other than paint and stickers that every other special edition is.
It is worth considering the simple fact that the base m3 was simply a flawless car for the purpose and for the purpose of this car for 99 percent of buyers it really does not need anything, including more power. This care is so balanced where the power delivery fits the tranny and fits the neutral-oversteer balanced chassis given you have fine control of the linear power curve. So while you can look at it as bmw being dumb, which I agree with, I guses we could take the opposite view that the m3 is simply so good that there really is not a lot to improve on unless you stroke the engine out |

Which Douche from BMW M is making all these nonsense special additions? I like to meet him to kick you in your balls or vagina. There should be only two models offered in each series. Like M3 or M3 track or M5 or M5 track.

BMW gives the impression that they are desperate for keeping the attention on their M products alive, but these are steps to the wrong direction. Real M clients want substance before and above everything else and BMW give this accessories katalog edition "starting 99,000 EUR in Germany", that is 30,000 or around 45%more than a base E92 M3's starting price! It is not about if it looks good or bad, what matters is there is nothing really new or exclusive on this car, and nothing that can make it drive better and on top of that the pricing is almost insulting. This is a whole new level of making a "call for a badge whore".

Agreed... I wish there was some way of calling them "Cosmetic Editions" or call it a "Premium color choice" .... not the worst thing... but all copies of this wonderful engine are worth having. ~Frost

and I thought my E36M3 was known as the ///Marketing model...I'm glad that designation has been transferred. Hopefully the Lime Rock models will depreciate disproportionally, I kinda like the orange, and I hope it's cheap when I'm ready to buy in another 5-10 yrs. (Provided that wing comes off as well).

I really like this car! If I could... this would be one I would buy and stick in the garage for 50 years at which point it would be worth $1M with only delivery miles on it.

I wonder if Jason gets sick of posting these embarrasing re-hashes of a 6 year old car. BMW is trying too hard... and people are starting to laugh. Imagine if it was a "special edition" 1M coupe.. I am quite sure the entire automotive press would be drooling, instead we all turned are heads in embarrassment for BMW.

*yawn* I'm not impressed with this special edition either. You know they (BMW) are going to milk the special edition "teet" until people stop buying them or until the new M3 comes out (whichever happends first). Personally I think they're tarnishing the M brand by contiuing to do this along with putting M "package" parts on every non M vehicle they make...pretty soon M is going to stand for "Meh"... just my .02
