Buyers remorse, looking to sell my 08 m3.
Bought this couple of months ago but I really underestimated how much fuel this car was going to use, this car does not make a good daily driver at all for my use. Thought if I drive it normally it wouldn't eat so much but seems like I'm visiting the pump every few days, while this car is awesome it just isn't for me.
Currently has 36k miles on the clock, only options are Fox Red leather, ipod, EDC and 19inch wheels. It does not have the tech package as I didn't want idrive specifically. Its a rare color/option combo for people who want a car drivers car with out all the extras. Highlights -Certified preowned by Lexus and can be serviced at any BMW dealer with 3year 36k miles bumper to bumper full warrenty with loaner, tow and roadside assistance -Fox red leather/heated seats -manual tranny -NO idrive -ipod connectivity -19inch option with brand new tires -EDC -no accidents with zero dings/dents Installed black kidney grills and led halos Looking to get 40k for it. ![]() ![]() Last edited by boostlag; 11-26-2012 at 12:17 PM. |

you can get the info here. I guess lexus cpo so they can earn extra money, it cost a little more but that lexus customer service warranty was worth it. The car was reconditioned, front bumper was resprayed to remove rock chips, all the door dings removed and wheel curbs were repaired and oil and fluids were changed and topped off. |

my last car was a 300whp 350tq mazdaspeed6 with hardly babying it would get 21mpg and could easily hit 24mpg with highway. This thing gets 15mpg babying it and i'd usually dip in to the 13mpg. Feels like i'm always stopping to fill up. This is true, unlike some people here I'm not rich and can't afford 300+ a month in fuel.

Same reason I sold mine. Great Great car, just killing me at the pump. I will wait to see now how the new M3 is with MPG.

I've got an E46 M3 that gets better gas mileage and E90 328 for sale as well.

Have you considered maybe giving up something that is unnecessary for gas money? I've daily driven my M3 since 2008 and used to drive it like a b**** never revving past 3k rpm so I could get the best gas mileage. Even after being easy on the gas I averaged only 15-17 MPG. It was really difficult getting rid of the car because I was still paying it off at the time. My wife and I each used to smoke a pack a day and eat out everyday. On average we were spending $300 on cigarettes and $1000-1400 on eating out each month. We both decided to quit smoking and started eating at home and packing our lunches. This alone saved us $1000-$1200 each month which was more than enough for gas.

LOL anyone who thinks about gas milage should automatically exclude any performance vehicle off their shopping list. As Magnus Walker said so wisely "I don't care about miles per gallon, I care about smiles per gallon."

I'm not pressed to sell it but probably going to trade it in for a Fiesta ST come summer. M3 is just too much car for the streets. It is true what they say, its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

I'm just surprised that some people are concerned about how much they spend at the pump, but they bought a V8
![]() I gladly paid whatever gas money the car needed In return for the endless enjoyment I got from the car I can save (and did) on countless other things But to me driving pleasure is more worthy of my hard earned cash, than anything else (other than family of course) If you want fun driving and pretty good gas mileage I'd recommend the scion frs/Subaru brz Or the fiat 500 abarth I had the regular 500 and it was tons of fun to drive That was 38mpg The abarth has a lot more power and still manages 36mpg

The M3 is not a low cost of ownership car and is a luxury, not a necessity...kudos to the OP for recognizing mistakes, thinking rationally, making some tough decisions, and weighing his priorities in the way he best sees fit.

I do not use mine for DD because it just doesnt make sense when I can use a more fuel efficient car for the same purpose. I still enjoy the hell out of my car pleasure driving |
