Hard time cleaning bamboo beige leather
What are you guys using on your lighter colored leather interiors? My seats are looking 'dirty', but wiping leather conditioner doesn't seem to help.

leatherique has worked well on my bamboo beige.
http://leatherique.org/detail.aspx?ID=35 you put the conditioner on first.this works best in hot weather.then, after it has soaked in,you follow up with the cleaner.it's expensive, but i think it's worth it. there are lots of threads on it-here's one http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=569742

thanks for the suggestions guys - any ideas for when it's cold out? From what i've read, it's not going to do much unless it's hot and the pore in your leather open up before you clean.

you could try just the leatherique cleaner, which has some conditioner in it. if that doesn't work, you could do the full treatment with the rejuvinator first, maybe heat up the seats a bit with a hair dryer, then use the cleaner.

The Trick
None of those products will do much for heavily soiled leather unless you work the dirt out (or work the product in) to the pores of the leather.
The trick is to use a stiff brush that won't scratch the leather (I use a boar's hair brush) to work in the cleaning product, then use a clean MF towel to absorb the dirty/spent cleaning solution. Heavily soiled leather may take a few rounds before it's perfect, but any of the above mentioned cleaners should work if done this way. |

I use Chemical Guys and it works OK. The shade on the BB is fine, but I'm more concerned about wear. Is that completely unavoidable?

unfortunately but you can prevent it by taking care of the leather and the biggest thing i think is the type of jeans you wear and how you get in and out of your car

when you get in,try gripping the seat bolster with your left hand.then, slide your butt in against the back of that left hand, and it won't be rubbing on the seat and wearing it down.easy to do,works great.

Use the Leatherique System for your Bamboo Novillo leather, it is the best set of product for it, hands down. I have tried every high end leather system on the leather, and nothing comes close to this when done right.
BMW Novillo leather is an un-coated Aniline leather, meaning that the Leatherique system is specifically designed and most effective on these kinds of leathers. It will not work on coated leathers found in a lot of other cars. |
