I'm just waiting for BMW to offer the M-Sound package on the regular 5-series. Just pipe the M5's V8 through the stereo system. Charge $5K for it.

gblansten, you might be onto something here. Why limit to M sound only? Imagine the sound of a flat plane crank, and or various exhaust sounds, or mid pipe sounds unloaded in one package where user can pick/change at a push of a button?

2014 - M earbuds simulate sound, M virtual gloves simulate feel, and M glasses make it sunny all the time, and your girlfriend look like Adriana Lima.

Well, look at it this way it is not as bad as Porsche or Ferrari. There are all kinds of Porsche names merchandise that have little to do with the cars (although they are from Porsche design) and there are many Ferrari laptops from Acer.

Don't know about the Ferrari stuff but Porsche Design is actually a legit company that makes a lot of quality products they don't just put their name on random Made in China flashlights and mugs

Since the F30 is relatively new, there currently is a trend within their community to install hybrid bumpers - which are made by combining sections of various BMW and aftermarket items.

I've seen pics of F30 with a hybrid 1M bumper fascia, etc. If I remember correctly maybe in one of the Bimmer issues?

Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for the joker.

I do realize Porsche Design is a company of its own. They probably do make good stuff. But are they car related? My point was at least M is still on BMW cars, not on some fragrances or some kitchen knives.

All this talk about diluting M brand with sticking M every where on BMW cars, I would think that we should take comfort in M stays on cars.

...and gratuitously on shirts, jackets, gloves, watches, luggage, bikes, kids toys...

Am I missing a point?

I suppose the point should be made in a bit broader terms I should have made some distinctions for merchandising. This would be along the same line as a sports team selling t-shorts, mugs, pens, etc. Nobody thinks of this as diluting the images of the sports team.

I guess my point is M doesn't go as far as some other brands. Maybe some day they will. Some day we may be able to buy M branded kitchen knives. After all, germans make great knives!

OP, is this the guy?

This was spotted at my local grocery store in my neighborhood in Northern VA.

Beautiful looking F30 335 w/ M Sport Line package + "M" badging. I recalled this thread about such a "M35" when seeing this car.

Please tell me that's him. I'd drive a few hours north just to see that...

No, the 335i was black and he had a quad exhaust and Ohio plates. And the placement of the ///M Badge was different. Basically the first "3" was replaced with an ///M and the "i" was debadged. But the funny thing is I ran into the guy at the Sunoco down the street from where you spotted this one (right across from the Taco Bell).
