E92 supercharger

Anyone have any good or bad experiences with superchargers on an 08 e92 m3? Any shops in Florida you would use or avoid?

You'll find that the forum is mostly ESS-dominated. G-Power and VF Engineering are excellent choices as well.

Active is a good shop in Florida. For these motors it seems unanimously ESS kits are the ones of choice (based in Arizona) . Id go with them if I were you. More forum feedback to help out along the way.

I installed an ESS vt2-625 kit on my 08 M3 about 10k miles ago. Kit and car have been rock solid...no issues.

Go ESS with confidence!

You won't find any issues. I don't see the benefit of going with anyone BUT ESS. They have had zero failures, offer some of the highest hp kits on the market and their customer support is the best!

Active is based in Miami Fl and they design supercharger systems. Why not go straight to the manufacturer instead of through a shop. ESS makes great products as well and has a great track record.

I would do your research within AND outside of this forum for the most neutral and unbiased information.

2008 M3s are known for engine issues, and most supercharger companies can (or should) help you understand why and the direction to go in. Just come up with your list of questions and shoot away. The company you go with will be clear based their answers.

Dear OP,

You can email me directly for more information @ omar@velosdesignwerks.com. Regarding adding a supercharger kit to your 2008 M3 as stated above there have been issues with 08 cars from some SC manufacturers so it is best to do your research before boosting. We have experience with installing a few ESS kits as well as personal experience with other systems on the market. In a perfect world it would be recommended to swap our your bearings before adding a system but I am confident there are systems on the market that work well on a 2008 car. I try to be unbiased about stuff, but dude, WTH? The dyno graph you're posting is from this post http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=767900 on 11/9/12, which is from AA's testing of a *potential* new s/c setup.

Hi, UK ESS owner here ! Had my VT600 kit a year now, great piece of engineering, no problems at all with kit. Huge power increase but drives normally until you give it a bootful of right foot. Got 620 BHP average on various dyno runs so well pleased. There have been rumblings about big end bearing concerns on earlier cars. After speaking with my main dealer here in the UK the part numbers for the big end bearings haven't changed here for any of the years from 07 up to present so that doesn't seem a concern.

He ask for anyone with bad experiences on a 08, it could take a while to search all the supercharger threads for that info, I think it's a major short cut to just ask! Also where's the other 10% !?

To OP, I installed a ESS VT1 on my 08, only had it for 3 months now but did a lot of 1/4 mile races and even more pull in the streets, no issues yet, it looks pretty solid! Good luck with your project!
