Hi,
I think that it is cosmoline, the shipping protectant. On my 128i, which is a year old now, it drips down the rocker panel at the same place on both sides. I use a mild polish (Mazerna final finish) on a microfiber towel. Regular cleaner doesn't seem to remove it readily. Cheers, Andrew |

Grease is one thing and cosmoline is another. For either "Stoners" Tarminator works awesome.....Just be sure to wax or seal after you remove the contaminant!

I removed it all from my M3 and wife's MINI Cooper.....if you are talking about cosmoline
Get one of the hand held steamers, steam directly on to cosmoline and brush it away (I used one of my swissvax brushes) Steam is what you are looking for..... I did not use any other products.
