Any info on Grandsport Speedway in Hitchcock, TX (near Houston)?

Groove Union is hosting a HPDE there this Sunday and registration for BMW, Porsche, Audi is only $100. Has anyone here attended their DE, and is it well organized? It is not covered by my HPDE track insurance, so I will only attend if I know it is a safely run DE.

We've hosted an event at GSS. It's a very technical track. The facilities are OK, if not slightly sub-par. Their DEs typically don't have a lot of people, so incidents should be minimal. Run offs are pretty generous.

I agree with Richard.......the track surface is great. The rest of the place is sub-par at best. If you want the technical aspect of tracking this is a good challenge. I personally will never track here again........Phil

Interesting, thanks for the input. What makes this track more technical than say TWS or MSRH?

This is a very short track with lots of turns. Big motors will do you no good on this track.......no room to stretch out.............Phil

Thanks Phil, you have just made up my mind for me. The S65 needs more room to stretch her legs. I will have to pass on this one!

I haven't. MSRH is far enough...GSS is even further. I still wanna keep my wife for a little while longer

Never got to drive Grandsport when I lived in Houston. Always wanted to...maybe when I'm in Houston over Thanksgiving...

Did 60k miles last year - 40k on the company car, 20k on the tow rig. 18.5 hour haul in the truck - was hearing voices by the time I got back.

That's a lot of miles! I average about 12-15k per year.
