you guys really think prices just drop for older platforms (meanwhile they're all using similar components) right lol. Only a fool would believe that. E46 m3 kits are now cheaper cause the cars are cheaper and the owners are now cheaper as the cars become more affordable. I mean, shit, it's pretty hard to sell a 12k SC kit for a car that now can be had for 15k right?

perfect example= IND/ m24 oil cooler which is ridiculously priced and meanwhile you could by a custom Mocal and just use AN fittings and lines for a HUGE discount.

Alright, so where is the issue then? You wanna mod on a budget simply wait until the new models are out. If you wanna mod the current model you pay the premium for parts. I think that's a solid and fair choice... no one is forcing you to upgrade anything. It's not like the car requires you to upgrade in order to enjoy it.

I agree with you that things are pretty expensive, but you gotta pay to play. And again, in the end, these cars hardly need any modifications in order to have fun with them.

right, that's kind of my point. I do like to complain, but just cause we drive M3 doesn't mean we like to throw money around. I work my ass off, and for some vendors justification of pricing is just wrong. I'd rather be told, "oh you drive an m3? Price just went up about 1k" than the whole mantra of why pricing is what it is.

But that applies to every sports car... obviously paying $20K for maintenance on a Ferrari is hardly justified, but that's what you get when you buy one. Look at Weistec - same costs for their SC's and other upgrades for the AMG range, it is simply across all brands; nothing will ever change that. So I really can't get upset about it. If I think the cost is not justified (for any product) - I just don't buy it, simple as that.

yeah don't even get me started there. I used to do some work w/ Ferrari/Maserati dealers and was BLOWN AWAY at the cost for things OEM, let alone A/M. But it is what it is, as said before: As long there is a customer in line waiting to shell out $$ for something cool/unique they'll be someone there to sell it to them. Esp. if your car of choice is a Ferrari; now we just added two extra 0s to the invoice

You just said it... it's simple price elasticity. And in that regard, nothing else matters...not R&D, not overhead, not price of the underlying parts, etc. If you don't like the price, don't buy it.

I'm not ready to make a new thread just yet on the improvements we have been making with our kits, but just to show you guys this is why you cannot compare boost in the manifold to others blowers.

After tuning and putting the stock rims back on we make a constant 535 On our mustang dyno on 9.5 psi. This will equal around 580-590whp on a Dynojet.

So was the belt slipping on the HKS run? Boost shouldn't taper on that, correct?

At that boost it does fall off at the top. There was No belt slip whatsoever in these runs.

I think this is on the low compression motor that is less efficient. If so, it should do better on a stock compression motor, which would be more efficient and run less boost.

Wow. I did not know tuners were running 10-11 psi peak boost on stock 12.0:1 motors on pump gas.

We were trying to see the capabilities of the blower during testing. It's currently running 9-9.5 psi
