Can someone finally just drive down here to MD and give me a freakin ride already. You guys have the S/C, not me. It will take me twice as long to get to one of you S/C cars. OP, buy whatever kit you want at this point. Bottom line, S/C gonna be better than your stock....from a power, etc. standpoint.

Until we see proof otherwise, the HKS / Rotrex kits will not make as much peak power, and will not make as much power where it counts in the power band on the S65, compared to the Vortech kits with equal psi levels, that's just an objective fact. There are countless dyno's, trap speeds and 60-130's, that confirm this, rather than just one's arbitrary opinion or one dyno comparison. To be fair we have seen a dyno comparison where early and mid power ranges favor the HKS/Rotrex and peak power the Vortech, BUT the dyno comparisons are misleading, as both kits were not running the same psi or Water Meth, one would think those are important factors.

The S65's REAL power range, except from a dig, 1st gear ONLY, is ~6500/6800 to redline, the Vortech kits generally make more there, at times with less boost, WHERE IT COUNTS for most people racing in a straight line, if you want to argue about optimal power range for, tight turns, track, daily driving, etc go for it, but I'd say most people buy a SC'r kit to go faster in a straight line, not for track use, and until someone actually proves otherwise, the Vortech is the better blower for the S65 in that respect.

Andrew, again why are you boasting about AA's highest rated kit vs ESS' lowest rated kit? Any objective person would find this a bit odd, and perhaps misleading. Nothing wrong with the run, I enjoyed it, but when one car is running more boost, you would think the outcome would be as is it was, also I'm not sure why LM started in 3rd gear at those speeds, but I wasn't there, maybe he wasn't hooking in 2nd.

Forget the ET, but slicks are not going to improve your traps significantly on this car if you are hooking most of the way down the track. In the vids AK's car has no trouble going through all the gears, the ESS cars were on street tires during some of the runs as well, and trapped higher, but don't you find it odd that ESS' lowest rated kit with a slightly smaller pulley, still slightly out trapped AA's highest rated kit and most visible car with more boost, same day, same track?

Fair enough, for you that's where it counts, but for the VAST MAJORITY of people who buy kits, that's not what they're using them for.

Sure you can, unless it's cold outside or you have bald tires. From a 2nd gear roll, with RE11's or R888's the car hooks in 60+ degree weather. But you make a good point, BIG power on this car is somewhat pointless, you'll be hard pressed to enjoy the car at low speeds unless you run DR's all the time, even then they're not great unless heated up.

+1. I hook pretty well even with the 4.10 diff and the 625 kit (+full exhaust). It requires some skill, but it is possible.

Yep, I love BIG power, but on the track it sure adds a extra level of concentration theft

It doesn't really make sense for you to boast about a 535 kit beating our 625 kit at the track, but then whining about the car only being a 535 kit when Akash beat him by cars in a fair 3rd gear dct street race. Learn to take a loss you cant win every time.

By the way Lost marine is putting out 500 Whp, so it is far from the lowest kit.

I don't agree with this. Not everything is about straight line acceleration. Similarly, not everyone who buys a SC kit cares only about straight line acceleration, but for some reason, this seems to be the only comparisson. Also, many people with SC kits track their cars on a circuit. I think when people purchase a SC kit, there are many variables to it, including reliability, power, how it behaves as a daily driver, heat soaking, what kind of support/warranty it comes with, and many many other variables. To be fair, if you want straight line acceleration, there are cheaper, better options compared to an M3. The M3 shines in handling just as much as it shines in power and finesse.

What I am trying to say is that this is turning into a cheap pissing match - which it shouldn't. Getting back on topic, the OP asked about superchargers in general ... and he also already made his decision. The job of this forum is to be informative. Vendors and members should give their own input and leave it at that. If someone starts trashing one brand over the other this will turn ugly.

Just my opinion.
Thank you for reading.

It must not be his daily driver if he thinks 6800+ rpm is the only place it counts. I personally sit in traffic 5 days a week with a few runs to the next traffic light.

How is it a loss when the ess kit is 535 and the aa kit is 625? From 3ed gear I would expect your 625 kit to win and if think that's a good win.....well there's something wrong with you

I expected it to win as well. Still a loss no? The 535 kit also beat the 600 kit for almost 75% of the run as well.

Like I said it shows Lost marines skill at the 1/4 track
