Torque difference 265-275?
The circumference difference between 265/35& 275/35-19 is 1%. I seriously doubt you can detect a 1% difference in torque.

Great to hear you got in contact with someone and they are looking into it for you. Michelin customer service is usually top notch!

I ran into this when I plus sized my tires another bimmer. The car felt sluggish off the line. It's also the extra weight (1lb is a lot)

Your Buttmeter is way better than mine, then! It'd be interesting to see some test data.

Good to see Greg still here.
You have the new /M order setup already? .

Thanks. Not yet. Just got a new Merc ML for the wife, so may wait a year or two. I'll be starting to follow it, though.

Same here, more snap off the line with stock sizes for me. I was comparing like tires, PSS's. I'm a huge fan of reducing unsprung weight. A little bit here and there is noticeable if you've got a sensitive butt meter.

I, too, agree that unprung weight is important. That's why I have forged RAC Monolites that are about 22# for the 19x10 rears. I don't think a lb. or two in tire weight is huge unless you're racing. All things are some form of compromise, and for me the beefier profile and slight extra grip offsets any negatives.

Cool, nice wheel indeed. HRE's here, 22lbs rear also, et20. Provides a nice aggressive appearance w/stock sized tires. Upsized PSS's definitely affected the feel of shifts on my DCT. Felt sluggish compared to stock size PSS's and that's just in normal driving. Maybe 6mt gearing would have less effect, dunno...just my experience on my car. |

PSSs
Here are my PSSs, waiting for their debut. Problem is my Vreds have 6/32"F & 7/32"R left, but I bought the Michelins early to get the $70 card. I could go through most of the Winter with the current tires, but not sure I want to.

It's so wet here now that would not be effective.

Still waiting on word on the 285/30/19? I have 245/35/19f and 275/30/19r right now and won't need new fronts when I need rears, but don't think I'll have enough room with a 295 setup in the rear. My offset on 10" wheels is 20ET in the rear with a slight drop on KWV3. Measurement from the center roundel is 13.5" to the fender.

According to http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp a 245/35/19 on an 8.5" wheel in the front paired with a 285/30/19 on a 10" wheel on the back matches up perfectly. A 255/35/19 and a 295/30/19 also pair perfectly but I don't need new front tires and I'm worried about the 295 rubbing.

About to go to my second set of PSS with a setup of:
18x9.5 w/265-35 18X10 w/285-35 Absolutely no complaints here. I previously ran PSCups on the car and the PSS are the best street tires I've had.

Funny how people mentioned it felt sluggish when going bigger. I felt the same when I mounted on my FIs. I recently installed Brembo so that will help reduce more unsprung weight.
