I've seen that same stripe on a white M3 in LA but it was closer to the rear of the door. Looks okay I guess. Not a fan of big multi-colored stickers on cars. I think AW is the only color that can pull it off.

Mixed thoughts ...
  1. Nice for a track since it makes the car easier to ID at a distance
  2. A little too much flair for me off the track
  3. If I was strolling in Monaco and saw this I'd say, "cool! Check that out!"

I think the stripes on the car look like you are trying too hard. "Hey everbody, I want to make sure you know that this is an "M" car, not a regular 3-series!"

The PO did them, but I think they are stickers based on a quick google search.

Looks good on white. Just subtle enough, but you'll know it's an M3.

I think they are decals. Based on this site:
http://www.beastpower.com/p/bmw/bimm...ed/BI-M-KG-DEC

$20 for some stickers?? Anyone know of a cheaper alternative?

I go out of my way to remove or alter all ///M logos off mine. But then again i am battling a world of AW coupes. Anything to set it apart from the rest.

I'm for anything unique on these cars because it seems like it's all been done. There are some things that can make them look cheap, I agree, but I don't blame anyone for wanting to make thier M look more aggressive or unique to stand out. It's not a regular 3 series and I don't want anyone to mistake mine for one. To me, it's an M3, it's loud, has a carbon roof and an 8,250 redline high strung V8. Recognize!
On the other hand, I do like the subdued, sleeper look too. Only those "in the know" know what you're pushing.
Long winded way to say that I like the stripes, lol.
