Everyone but Varsha, maybe. He's garbage.
Plus, with as much as they all talk over each other and at the same time, you can't hear anything. |

We need a new team of broadcasters. The SpeedTV team is wildly outdated. Maybe Matchett should stay, but Varsha and Hobbs need to be put out to pasture or Barrett Jackson.

Sorry, but good riddance. Speed TV coverage of F1 is nigh unwatchable. 2 minutes of racing with rubbish announcing for 5 minutes of commercials. No thanks.

The Speed Team is Lame & needs be dismantled. That is the only piece of positive news from the NBC announcement.

![]() I'm sure all three guys are fine human beings and its sucks seeing people loose their jobs but unfortunately they weren't very good. Specially when compared to the crew the BBC and Sky has. Hopefully NBC has watched the BBC or Sky broadcast and give us something thats almost as good. Now if they can manage a race w/ out commercials, I wont care who's on the broadcast team. |

I have been happy with the job that these guys have done. My fear is we will end up with people that haven't followed F1 for years and are more "entertainer" than true fans that know the history.
For a period of time the race was on a network occasionally (similar to now but not as often) but they would use their own crew. It was worse. |

NBC is saying they will stream every race, in addition to carrying practice and qualy.

I actually miss Peter Windsor as well. Will Buxton isn't bad, but Windsor was better. His failed attempt at USF1 was, I'm sure, a tough experience to rebound from.
Either way, I'm all for fresh faces. Hobbs constantly references the wrong driver when describing action on the track. It just irks me more than anything else that they commentate on.

Well, Schumi needs a job...
Not that it could happen, wouldn't it be fascinating to have someone of that caliber and breadth of experience be a commentator? We've of course had former drivers in that role, but I can't think of anyone who was contemporary, massively successful, and played a part far beyond that of *just* a driver in building a team. It would bring a unique and interesting perspective to the sport. Who else from the current or recent driver roster? Raikkonen? Other Commentator: "So, Kimi, how about that impressive qualifying performance?" Raikkonen: "______________________________________" Other Commentator: "Couldn't have said it better myself!

If NBC really wants F1 to be a success for them, aka higher ratings, then they need to draw more people into the sport. To do that, they need to do more than just show practice, quali and the race. They need to do at least one piece a week on the drivers and/or teams to get people behind them and actually create fans. To watch F1 just to watch it is boring for the average viewer, to root for someone or some team is exciting. Like it or not, NASCAR does a great job with the "show" of the race, NBC can do its part to help F1 with this.

If they produce a show like IndyCar36, they can make F1 huge here in the states. Between that and a show like Sky's "F1 Show", they would really get the fan base here excited, and by extension bring new fans in.

If NBC really wanted to impress us (and I doubt they do), they would produce their own show using raw feeds from all the race cameras. They would also send the broadcast team (not just Will Buxton) to the race just as they do for other sporting events. Back to reality - I'll be relieved if they just broadcast all the races in their entirety. I also woudln't be surprised if they use Speed's team if those guys are willing to take a pay cut.

But I'd consider no commercial interruption during Practice, Qualifying, and Race sessions would be a huge achievement for their first few years!!!
