what car insurance do you have?

Hi everyone- I was just wondering if anyone could suggest car insurance companies and what kind #'s most ppl are paying out there? I recently got a 2013 coupe. I realize it will be a lot as I have no history in the united states. I'm 31 years old, and a physician.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! thx

There are just way, way too many variables when it comes to insurance rates! I have USAA, which only insures military members and families, and I pay $680 each six months. But I live in Oklahoma which has high losses due to weather and many people with little or no insurance. You would really need to shop around because every situation is different.

I have State Farm Insurance, and I pay $1100/year for a 2013 M3 Coupe.
I have full coverage... with a $500 deducible on collision/comprehension.

There are many factors that go into insurance cost. I meet the following criteria to have such a low premium.

1) With State Farm for 15 years, with NO claims.
2) No tickets in 7 years.
3) Age
4) No Lien on vehicle
5) Multi-Line Discount (Home Owners)

I also have accident forgiveness, in which, if I get into a accident, and I am at fault, my premiums won't increase.. but, it is a one time shot.

Hope this helps.

Exactly, what I pay has no bearing on what you'd pay. Contact several companies and see what rates you get.

You guys have some crazy rates. State Farm, less than $700/year, can't remember exact figure. Pretty worthless though because so many factors it's difficult to compare.

Get a quote from Geico. I've been with them since med school and I've never had an issue with their service. They also offer "mechanical breakdown" that you can purchase during the first 15 months/15k miles that will act as a 7 year/100k mile bumper to bumper warranty (only "consumables" not covered) for about $72 a year.

Just like what others says, rates depends on many factors. It'll be better for you if you shop around as the rates also vary depending on the company. Either you shop around or get a quote online would be okay and do some phone calls on insurance companies just to give you an idea of the rates. Goodluck!

Umm... you think $1100 is "such a low premium"?? Time for you to start shopping around some more. That's relatively steep for your conditions if you're carrying normal liability coverage.
