LOL I'm still trying to figure out how in an "AWD" car the slide even started!

And then right after the spin, he says "Quattro". I wonder if this is some sort of Audi ad.
This is exactly what happens when the car breaks loose and you correct it. Try it in your car while videoing. If you do it right this is what it will look like

Well, it wasn't driver-induced, so probably some liquid/slick on the highway surface. Or, tires.

I would have stopped like that too...

In fact, when I was 16 I had a similar thing happen to me.. I was driving my brothers Mustang 5.0 which I did not realize had a live axle. Hit a bump on the 405 freeway in the left lane and went sideways across all five lanes in pouring rain in the middle of traffic. Somehow missed every single car. After that I pulled over on the shoulder and sat there for a little bit collecting my marbles..

If I was a father I wouldn't be doing launch control or anything like that with my kid in the back. Reason is that you could lose control on the second gear shift and go completely sideways. It happened the first time I did launch control in my E60 M5, and I have my friend going sideways on video in his E92 M3 last week on the second gear shift. It's just not worth it with children anywhere around. Not to mention based on Tegans face after the launch some brain scramblage action might have been going on

This video I just came across and is pretty crazy too (particularly the second clip), but no saves here:

Wow, Mike, that video is disturbing.
I was reading a short story on world car fans; someone bought a GT3, 4 hours later crashed the car going 160mph. The car looked like a spaghetti. I highly doubt it the guy survived.

Exactly what I was thinking. Bald tires + a little slick spot would totally cause that.

Reminds me of this (obviously photoshopped)... lol

As a parent who drives like this front time to time I would never do that with my child in the car.

Nothing beats this:

PS. I don't see the big deal about launching the car with the kid in the back seat.

My guess is that he got out to see if all of his tires were intact. If that would've happened to me I would've pulled over to to see if I blew a tire which caused the skid. You can see him looking at the rear tires in the rear view mirror in the video.

I just took a video like that with my cleaning lady in the passenger seat. It's absolutely hilarious. She starts yelling at me on the 2nd gear shift.
