My '07 M3 has a retrofitted CIC, and that took close to a minute I would say for the update.

But in my wife's '11 X3 it was lot quicker more like 30 sec. There are no difference to the respective updates. The screen messages are the same.

I think if the USB must be formatted with FAT, not NTFS. for the car to see and read the update file.

Sweet didn't even see this until now. Time for update on 3 cars once I escape this jury duty sentence (all 3 are retrofitted combox)!

I see that the download email fully option is a new one.

Excited. Oh the small things.

Those of you looking to update your combox retrofitted car - use VIN# J593207 and this will do the trick for you

Changes as per BMW PDF:

Office: Improved support for email messages.

> Telephone: Improved USB connection for iPhone devices with iOS 5. Improved connectivity of certain devices. For certain devices, better display and stability during calls. Improved Bluetooth connection with HTC devices. Improved sorting of the phone book in Android devices in Japan.

> Multimedia: Improved display of additionalalbum and track information. Improved connection and control in Bluetooth audio devices.Improved functionality of TeleService,BMW Online and Internet for iPhone devices with iOS 5.

This.. and make sure you're going to Software Update at the bottom of Settings... not the USB drive to play music. It takes about 20 seconds to register.

Fat32 Formatted..

Hi Mike

Could you explain how the dual channel Bluetooth connection works and the benefits please?

I think it is one of the advantages of having connected drive, which I don't and I'm trying to convince myself its worth having. I also heard that the connected drive is only advantages with iphone. Correct me if I am wrong.

Mike will correct me if I'm wrong. I think dual channel gives you the ability to connect a secondary bluetooth device and it allows you to stream in 2 channel stereo.............Phil

Thanks for the info. Make sense now. Maybe in my wife's F25 X3 but not in my E92 '07 M3. But then again for what it cost I don't know whether it's worth.
