UPD 1005 - Latest version of Combox update now available

I found it now. Hope this is not a repost.

Doesn't talk about support for iOS6. It says:

Improved support for email messages

amongst other improvements.

Emails are fully displayed with iOS6 right after the update but they will be listed under Texts, though. Then at subsequent pairings the emails will ceased to be displayed unless the trick of changing the iPhone notification number of showings is changed right after each pairing.

In other words, update 1005 does not fix the email display problem with iOS6 -which makes sense as this update is for iOS5.

Let's hope that is a typo.

Looking at the readme pdf of 1004 vs 1005 I only see the additional phones supported. The rest looks the same.

The same wording was used for UPD01004. I think this is applicable to all comboxes in general. I can't imagine BMW making different combox firmware for different models.

I am going to try this on my E92 M3 shortly.

Ok, the update went without any problems. It only updates for the phones. No multimedia updates. Please see the pics below for updated software versions for the respective modules:

I updated mine earlier today. No change compared to 1004 for me. Looks like it just supports additional phones so far.

why when i put the usb in the center counsel and i can see it in the cd/multimedia still when i hit software update it says no usb with software update attached to usb media interface?? is like not reading the program

Give it a few minutes for it to read the USB. If the stick is loaded with other stuff it can take a while. When I first put in, it did the same. But wait for the read light to stop and then do the update. Hope this helps. Unless the download file is currupt.

Just joined the update party.....my issue was fully displaying emails with BlackBerry OS7. Text messages worked great but emails would always show loading. After update emails are fully displayed and being read by my German girlfriend

how do you guys with non '12 vehicles download the update? it says my vehicle is up to date based on the VIN...

okay i am going crazy. I have downloaded this file five times. From the computer I say sent to the USB stick. I hit the stick to see the content and I see the file sitting by itself on the stick. I put it in the center counsel of the car and see all other files ( by the way is brand new stick) appear on the screen but not this upgrade file!!. what am I doing wrong. Does the file have to be brought into the stick in certain way??

Disable any security/locking modes of this particular USB stick.

i reformatted the usb so now there are no files on it. and saved the file on it and i can see the file on the idrive but i dont think there is anything in the file. is there a way to save the file. can you please give me how you save it on the usb from start to finish . thank you

I have had similar issues trying to my car updated using the older UPD1004 file. Car simply won't recognize the software update. My dealer was also unable to solve this. I have tried several different USB sticks, reformatted using a Mac and a PC etc but no luck. The dealer spoke with the BMW engineer and I am getting a full software update next week to see if this will solve the issue. Good luck!

I saved the file to the desktop first and then just copied it to the "jump drive". I never tried to open the file in the car. I just selected update software and 30 seconds later it was a done deal. Just install the USB drive in the car, wait a couple of minutes and select update software.........Phil
