Love bike's and there are some really nice one's here. I've had 12 bikes over the years and loved them all.
Currently I'm riding an 05 636 (silver one in pix). And just sold the ducati 749 not that long ago. The 848 in the pictureis not mine, it's my friends. My favorite bike by far is the red 05 yamaha r1. It had a power commander, graves exhaust. + some minor suspension modifications. Man i miss that bike... + here are some other pictures of my past bikes. Current 05 636 http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps88e3f972.jpg My 05 ducati 749 dark (sold) http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/IMG_0972.jpg 05 red r1 (sold) http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...k/IMG_0639.jpg 05 custom gsxr (sold) http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...yuk/gsxr06.jpg http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...yuk/gsxr09.jpg

Picked up my first bike today! Its an 04 sv650s. There's some minor things wrong with it (seat, scratches, etc) but I got a great deal on it. And don't worry, that's not my helmet on the bike, I know better than that
![]() First thing I need to do is change the front tire. Almost bald :/ ![]() |

All I can say is make someday, someday soon. I put it off and made excuses for so long. I had gotten to a point where I was sort of over owning a motorcycle. Never had been into the whole "hooters bike night" kind of scene, and I only rode with one other person (best friend), since he was the only person I trusted to not do something stupid. Bike was sitting more and more, cause going out for a ride seemed so mundane and involved. Transferred to my duty station over here and by blind luck ran into a guy who has been tracking for the past 5 years of his career, and took orders to Spain JUST for the tracks he would get to ride. Went out to one of his trackdays on Jerez and knew I had to do it. Kept on making excuses and finally he punked me into ordering the leathers and gear I needed for the track. 1st trackday was at Estoril, and I lowsided in turn 4 at the end of the day after gaining too much confidence. Destroyed my stock bodywork and all my shiny pretty carbon fiber. I had a smile on my face as I handed over 140 euros at the local shop that night for the clip ons that I would need to get my bike rideable for the second day. Track bike was born, and havent ridden on a street since.

I myself started on a ninja 650r. Dont ever believe anyone that says anything about that bike being "slow" cause it isn't remotely slow. That front end will still get light on you and you can get into just as much trouble as a I4 600cc. However like I said, it tends to be a bit more friendly with the more predictable power delivery. And get on those tires ASAP. Dont just replace the front, dont know whats on there now, but use this as an opportunity to put some good quality rubber on there. Im a fan of Dunlop Q2s myself, but people like the Michelin Pilot Power 2ct's just as much. My first year of going to the track I was running Q2's still. Sidewall to sidewall scrubbed in, warm up fast, and for a DOT Street tire...they stick like glue! EDIT: Also, aside from tires, your FIRST mod should be stainless steel brakelines + some quality brake fluid.

A simple flush and bleed will do wonders. Most average non-mechanically inclined motorcycle owners painfully neglect the brakes. Cant count how many owners I have asked when the last time they flushed the lines was to hear "umm never?". Unless your pads are shot, I would do stainless lines first. They will give you the most noticeable night and day improvement you have ever felt.
Other than that, ride safe, and learn at your own pace my friend. PS: Former or current Hokie? Grew up in central VA, seems like 1/4 of my class ended up graduating a Hokie ![]()

Just picked up this gixxer 1k. It has most of the mods I was gonna do myself! PC3, yoshi exhaust, and some minor suspension mods + others...
All that's left to do is to take off all of the stickers .
