window lines (rolling down windows creates smudge lines across?)

I'm not near my car now but I notice sometimes that on the inside of the window there are several lines going across that are visible depending on where i had the window down to recently. In other words within a week's time there may be 4-6 different lines across that are visible on the inside of the window. I'm not sure if its grease of what from inside the door...anyone ever noticed this?

^ +1, if you have window tint you'll notice it even more.

Must be airborne particles ... My windows always get closed and I never ever saw any lines ... Mind you I live in Canada and not in one of the major cities

almost every car ive had has done this.. PITA. I noticed it may have to do with dirt trapped in the door panel cause if the car has been kept outside it is severely worse than a car that I kept garaged
