There are no 50 state CARB approved kits for the M3. When u purchase the car, your smog is not for 6 years. If you have a friend it should pass out the tailpipe just fine if you still have stock cats.

If I read the smog laws in the State I live in (Maryland), correctly... We only get 2 years before needing to Smog Test on new cars.

Correct. All supercharger systems are not legal in the State of CA and are for off-road use only. Our systems do pass the emissions and readiness tests.

Here in Ontario our smog testing is pretty tight although having a blower on it won't make it fail any tests unless your catless. We do not test for OBD2 readiness here yet. |

2013 will move to a different form of testing in CA, eliminating sniffer tests for vehicles manufactured after 2000: http://www.smogtips.com/new-smog-law-AB-2289.cfm

Its nice to see that many of the components on the VF540 are the same proven components as the VF620 kits. Question: by using the same injectors as the 620kit and simply detuning them ... do the injectors still retain optimal vaporization (mist) of the fuel flow at slower cycles/speeds? It looks like a great kit. I must admit, I am very interested how it will perform in the heat or on the track. Keep us posted. |
