just took my first little drive around with the harness in and i am very impressed with the level of extra feel i have as a result of more solid contact with the seat. my car feels like all business!
i did note that backing up is a PIA which someone else here has mentioned.

I'm sure schroth calculated the length of the belts to work with a certain range of heights and seating positions. So that may explain why you can't tighten down the lap belts as much as you want. I've had the quick fit and the quick fit pro. The pro definitely fits different and it tends to ride up a little bit more. I have a similar centering issue as well. The pro's are in my E46 and were designed for the E46. I think that's just a function of how the belts clip into the cap lock. In fact, the regular QFs sit flat on your lap. If the pro's sat like that the buckle would dig into your hips. The cam lock sits right over my belly button as well. |

Jay, which one are you using? The Pro version for Mini or something else?

Partially true. Seat back and bottom for M3 and 1M are the same part #, upholstry is different for both. That's why I have been watching this thread for god knows how long knowing that if Schroth would release the E90 harness it should work for my car too.

I tested mine in Buttonwillow yesterday. I was very impressed. I used to run Recaro with stock seat belt, and I can tell you this quick fit harness with stock seat is just as good as Recaro PP w/ stock belt. I loved how it felt under heavy braking
I bought the cheaper of the two (non-Hans) and it fits really well, I have no issues with lap belt tightening or anything else. I am 6'0", 190 lbs |

6'1" 32" waist. Ran out of adjusting room to tighten the left lap belt side so the cam lock is off center like others have mentioned. It's snug but would prefer it a tad tighter. That little black plastic piece covering the drivers side torx bolt was a PITA to remove. There's a flat plastic clip in the middle along the bottom... If you can get to it vertically through the slot in the top, push the flat plastic clip downward to disengage it and negotiate the posterior segment free...that's it.

tested mine at Pacific Raceways today. didnt get the full effect as it was wet so G's were down some. did like it. found myself retightening during sessions usually once, and also still seemed to brace my leg against the door during corners. dont know if that was necessary or habit. like the planted feel particularly under braking.

Sad to say but I suck balls at heel toe. I can manage to do it some on the street but once on track it falls apart. I will try next time to just let the harness do the work so I can concentrate on one less thing.

I suck balls too in real life, but in my fantasy world...I am awesome. The big thing was to realize how important constant braking pressure was to keeping the car stable. As Von Zoom will testify, I didn't realize how bad I was until it was pointed out to me...and then that gave me a real focus for improving. Full on brake pressure made a huge difference as you know to keep pressing the pedal and use that pressure to pivot. Still learning though, but that is the fun, right?

In my E46, never had an issue with harnesses . But since I put fixed seats in, I find heel-toeing is even easier. |

At Shenandoah, the harness allowed me to concentrate at trail braking to get the car to turn in at the Corkscrew. I could never do this before since I was thrown this way and that. Since it keeps the torso in place, it also allows me to work the hands much easier and I can respond to ahh, let's say unanticipated moments a little sooner.
I absolutely love this harness and even though it is not perfect, I simply cannot imagine going back. Now can someone point me to the thinnest pair of gloves? My hands are a bit sweaty so gloves are probably a good idea but I'd like to retain the "naked hands" feel as much as possible. No dirty jokes please...

I remember we talked about gloves, I don't remember if I showed you my cheapo Simpsons. They were the thinnest, lightest, and most comfortable gloves the shop at Summit Point had, and they were also the least expensive. http://simpsonraceproducts.com/produ...s_id=996&sort= |

Hah, so interesting that the Audi item fits as well, I guess they all shop seatbelt HW at the same suppliers.
