I can't remember the last time I wore any of my rolexes.
Wow, I really couldn't disagree with this more. Let's use a car analogy (what the hell, it's a car forum...): You're only a car guy if you're buying cars in the top 1% of price (e.g. Aston, Lambo, Ferrari etc.)? You aren't a car guy if, for example, you're like my buddy and built up a vintage car from the ground up? That's probably only worth $50k, but he cared enough to do it all himself? Or you own Miatas and race them, or your vintage Mustang is your dream car?

Buddy, you're both watch guys if you care - you simply are willing to spend more money on yours.

Cheers

Buy what you love and want as long as you can afford it. If your budget is G shock and own 10 of them, you like watches. If you own Various Swiss watches, you like watches. Can both be WIS. I think so...

Well Said everyone, to each his own. I guess I got a bit insulted with the panerai being a swinging dick watch, I was a bit offended etc... I could care less if people want to wear fakes or buy G shocks...we all like the same type of cars in the end.

Same for people who wear fake Rolex's. If you like the design so much, there are companies like Bulova or Orient that make similar looking watches at maybe $300-500? Why wear a fake and be labelled as a fake?

Its like those folks who buy a Pontiac Fiero and turn it into a Ferrari. It looks like ass and the only people being fooled are dim wits.

This thread...? Really?

Get the BBK; you can't drive a watch to work.

Garage List
My collection consists of:

Tag Heuer Link Chronograph
Tag Heuer Grand Carrera Chronograph
Breitling Chronomat Evolution Chronograph
Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Chronograph.

Not sure why, but Rolex's don't do it for me...

I'm working my way up to a Panerai. One day. OP, get the Panerai.

Oh and P.S. - I hope that you watch guys that have multiple automatic watches have a watch winder at home.

The last watch I owned was a Swatch watch back in the day when I was a kid. I guess that doesn't make me a watch guy

I was totally into swatch watches as well. I thought you might be a WIS, but I guess you don't have to much time (no pun intended) as you're too busy with your mods.

Right because chics are going to take more notice of your brakes then your wrist watch..

Moreover, BBKs only ever make sense if you are beating the car up on the track..street driven cars see no benefit..and its only the bling factor that you get

I disagree with the watch winder as being a necessity. I have a 6 automatic watch rotation and while it's a pain to set the date, especially the Navitimer, if anything, it's less wear on the oils and gears. But this is just my opinion.

If you seriously buy watches to get attention from 'chicKs'... well, that is sad. I have always found that "Hey, how's it going?" works wonders. Not too mention, it is free

LOL yeah because that massive IWC logo really stands out when the watch is on your wrist.
But why so upset? Is that because a rep devalues the exclusivity you hoped you had bought when you blew $massive just to own the genuine article? Bless, must suck to be you.

See, I have read that as well. But... also I have read that not wearing your watches and letting them sit causes harm as well. Although less complex, it's sort of like leaving your car sit and not driving it. I have asked a few watch experts and people with watch repair shops and they couldn't give me a definitive answer. My watches have always been on winders and so far so good.

Until you use one. I have a large like 12 watch winder and it's amazing. Everytime, every watch is on time/date correct. It will also spin then reverse direction and pause for some time to not overwind.

no watch rep can ever devalue the real thing and IMO the guy who says a rep is the next thing and we're only paying for the name, etc. obviuosly doesn't have but wants the real deal. To each his own, but I can spot a fake a mile away and I love my watches, and there's an art to an automatic watch.
