I priced one with similar price tag and now I am thinking that C63 coupe is a better buy.

In that comparison the RS5 might have done better but overall the M3 has won more comparisons against the RS5 if my memory serves me right. I would still pick M3 over the RS5 as according to most comparison tests it is faster and more fun to drive.

Not a threat - why?

... because its' harder to get. But in the performance department, it already is a threat. Pricewise, there are a lot of M3 owners who have one, with limited options, and they can BARELY afford it (some can't, but have one anyway), so in truth, the Audi is more "out of reach" for most.

I've been thinking about getting one and made a few inquires. The best I've done in limited negotiations is 2k off sticker. Most seem to be sold or the dealer is playing the rare breed card. There will always be a couple that slip through the cracks and sit on dealer lots for 60+ days that they'll want to move....gotta be patient. Unfortunately I'm not!

This right here. When I found out about the extent and severity of this problem, I immediately crossed Audi off my list.
