Red Line Differential & Manual Transmission Lubricant

Anyone running the following products?

Differential - Red Line 75W-140 with Red Line limited slip friction modifier

Manual Transmission - 50/50 of Red Line MTL and Red Line MT-90

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm at about 60k and would like to change my differential and transmission fluids. The OEM product prices are ridiculous...perhaps these are just as good...potentially better at a lesser cost? Don't track my car...daily commuter with 50/50 street vs. highway. Thanks in advance for your $.02.

I would stick with OEM..especially with anything tranny/diff related

For the M3 the recommended manual transmission fluid is Redline D4 ATF.

OEM fluid is made to last for around 45000 miles, so its thick and does not allow for quick shifts at high rpm. I have inquired with some shops who routinely do service to out of warranty BMWs, and they also said to use D4 ATF and to change it every 15000 miles, as the oil is not as thick BUT does allow the transmission to shift much better.

Im personally about to change to D4 ATF, as redline is also the only aftermarket manufacturer of fluids whom (to my knowledge) has developed a replacement for the Castrol 10W-60 oil we currently need for our cars.

I've been using redline and AMSOIL in my cars, previous to the M3 for the past 15 years without ever a problem.

I'm running Redline diff fluid as suggested by Bimmerworld. They know everything there is to know about BMW's and track cars, I'm not concerned. Pentosin OEM fluid for my DCT.

The service interval for Redline D4 ATF is shorter than the OEM manual transmission fluid?

Lubro Moly also has a 10w60 designed specifically for BMW M cars.

Performance Technique recommends 15000 intervals...or maybe it was 30k? Either way, they said its shorter than OEM.

Lubro Moly huh...had no idea. Well then, we now have two non-oem manufacturers that carry oil compatible with the M. Thanks for the info!

Diff fluid should be changed every 30-40k. I run Lubri Moly 10w60 engine oil as well.

Good to know. I just figured it's the same interval as it is recommended by Redline and they don't say when to change it. Is the Redline 10w60 engine oil also recommended to change more often than OEM?
