My rear PS2s are worn out. My fronts still have plenty of tread left

I can replace the rears with PS2s or Supersports (and save $100).

Any downsides on going with the Supersports?

I would just get the same tires until all are out... I am not sure but i think the PS2's are discontinued. Correct me if im wrong but i would try to find a set of PS2's if its just a 100 bucks just get the same one.

Mixing would be a detriment to your handling balance. Michelin has specifically recommended against mixing PSS and PS2. This is due to the substantial change in grip.

Go with another pair of PS2 on the back, and by the time the fronts are gone you should be about ready for a set of 4.

Come on, no guys, you'll only tell the difference if you're tracking the car really. Right now I have pss rear and ps2 front. No problems here at all

That may be true in your case, but I would never recommend it. There are plenty of sub-optimal things one can do to one's setup that won't be noticeable most of the time. A track situation will certainly bring them to light much faster, but if a person cares enough about handling and performance to pay thousands of dollars more for an M3 compared to a 335, it seems illogical to run a mismatched set of tires just to save a hundred bucks. Especially in a case where the guys who made the tires explicitly said that it was a bad idea.
