Probably because it's one of the most stunning automotive designs on the road today. If it wasn't so heavy and understeer-prone, I'd have one instead of my M. A7 looks great, too. Had one in my rear view yesterday in traffic and couldn't help staring...

My understated M3 still gives me a woody...I'm not alone, there are a few in the know.

That's cool. But I look at a Lamborghini as the pinnacle of all cars. Of course there are faster cars, but I just feel once I reach that exotic level my car owning journey is complete. But I can understand one's love for his M3. It's a great car, it's just not a car that would fulfill me.

I understand what you mean. Lamborghini to you is what Ferrari is to me. Its not just speed; it is the connection of you with the car and the car with you. I guess I am just surprised at what the BMW M3 has evolved into. This is my 4th M3 and after this build I just cant believe the final product. The e92 M3 chassis is something really phenomenal.

Enjoy the ///M until the day you have the Lambo.

Heh, yeah. Almost a month into ownership and its pretty popular here. The family tried to disown me when I sold the '11 S4 and ordered this one and now the kids fight for turns for school rides in the morning. Elementary school teachers and students tell me, drive thru windows(had a conversation with a lady just last night at our Steak-n-Shake on the options I ordered lol), people at the stores go look and want to talk about it... you'd never know this car is at EOL here in the SEast.

Solid, well rounded car. Very capable. Good looking car, but not what I would call a head turner.

Mines a head turner for sure. I basically store my car for the summer because it's too hot to drive with the top down. Just got her back on the road yesterday to head to the dealership for an oil change. Two guys in modified BMWs chased me down on the highway, just to pull up to me and give me the head nod. Another guy shouted to me at a stop light. (Which happens more times then I can count) Going to the gas station also gives me anxiety over all the attention the car gets. With that being said, I spent my two hours at the dealership talking with my SA (cool guy) who I believe has given me the final push I needed to decide to mod the exhaust on my baby. He told me to call Roman (I'll be calling). Philip, I'll be messaging you too for your advice.

Go Buy a C63.

Not much attention really - the M3 to 99% of people is just another 3 series.

it's hard to be a head turner in Beverly Hills. The only head turning M3s in this area are ones with full exhaust systems... and that's not because of the car itself

I get nods and people taking pics of my car 10x a day but that has a lot to do with my "yolo" license plates.

This guy from a delivery truck has to chase me down at 45 MPH just to tell me, my ride is a #@$%^ bad ass and also told me that my exhaust sounds like a LAMBO/ FERRARI.
