That intercooler design is one of many.

If may not be the final iteration, we may use something completely different.

We will be using the core which gives us the best overall flow and lowest IAT under various conditions.... especially those where the engine spends alot of time at high RPM. Pressure drop and running the blower at it's best efficiency level also make it into the equation. So a difficult balancing act.

We already know how sensitive these engines are to temperature so our aim will be to keep the inlet temps as low as physically possible.

What our testing has shown so far is that 5 PSi in the plenum with low temps will match 8 PSi with high temps (simple logical engineering).

Consistency will be everything here.

We are not interested in producing a kit which gives 560-600whp for a few pulls on the road. Much better is a kit that can produce 530whp consistently.

What we do know from our other projects is that end users hate it when they get inconsistent performance. You put your foot down once and it's...wow! Then do it a few more times and you are sourly dissapointed.

Will update you all this week or next week latest.

You'll need to find someone first.

Given the compressor maps and maximum air flow at high rpm's of the V3Si and C38-91 are so close, the differences will be in the mapping and overall flow characteristics of the rest of the setup (intake, plenum, pipework).

It's going to be fun a competition for sure! Great that you all continue to raise the bar!

Update - some intercooler testing being carried out.

Road driving - if you want part throttle low end and midrange torque aswell as other good things (which the S65 lacks so much) then this kit definitely ticks that box really well!

We are actually in a position to supply a stage 1 kit very soon but the decision to do so has not been taken as of yet.

Sounds like this is going to be a TON of fun to drive!

Good luck with all the testing.

Hoping Stage II is available before spring 13!!! I'd REALLLLLY consider this kit if you build a package comparable to the 600 ESS kit performance & pricewise!

Update:

The final part of the puzzle is now at it's most efficient - the intercooler.

We were already getting great results but wanted a better recovery rate for temperatures and the new core has given this to us so we can now finally go into production.

We also played around with the intake a little more and that's also slightly more efficient.

We could have released this kit based on the first prototypes of the intake and intercooler but it's been worth the wait as inlet temps are excellent as is the recovery rate.

Will put up some images of what we've done to the intake shortly compared to our initial plans.

Still making 625hp crank (dyno dynamics) / 515whp with correction factor 1.005. Temps are a good 15 degrees higher than our last released dyno results but the power has been maintained due to the highly efficient intercooler core. That's how much better it is so I am sure you will all agree with my above statement... it was worth the extra wait.

R&D can go on for ever but I think it's time we call it a day now and put the whole thing into production.

Thats great news Sal as I know many people on the boards have been waiting for this. Cant wait to see this kit on many cars in the future and some vids of it

Nice!!! Great news Sal!!!

It's been an incredibly long journey, but as you said, I really believe the wait will be worth it. I can't wait to hear more of the details on some of the changes you all made.

So, i assume, you guys will only sell a kit with Intercooler... meaning it will be over $10k?

It will indeed be inter cooled.

It is designed for those who want consistent performance and the lowest possible intake temps during hard driving.

With the quality, fitment and design of this kit, it will definitely be over $10k!
