BMW CCA Raffle Extended - Not Pleased

This is the first year I've been a BMW Car Club of America member, and the first time that I've entered their Raffle. All the advertising has been that they would close the raffle today (7th) and, presumably I think, do the drawing shortly thereafter.

Today, because they are ostensibly merely 500 tickets from adding an 8th car to the lot, they've extended the raffle to Monday the 10th.

It feels a bit deceitful on their part...regardless of the reason (500 tickets, 50 tickets, or 2,000 tickets)...because they've changed the rules.

Is this sort of thing the "usual" for them? Did they do this sleight-of-hand last year?

(of course, I reserve the right to take-back my snarky-ness if I win the 8th vehicle.)

I agree it is bit under handed. Doubt I will buy tics again next year.

don't worry about it, i'm going to be the one winning the M5 this year anyway so it really doesn't matter to the rest of you

You could look at it as bettering your odds...if there is another car, your odds are better overall.

Well, I called that one, eh? (In my original statement about being only another 2,000 tickets away from another extension..)

Today's e-mail:

"LAST CHANCE: Raffle ticket sales will end at 5PM ET today and we are only 2,300 tickets from adding the 9th car!"

It could go on, and on, forever....

However, the e-mail also notes that winners are to be drawn on the 17th - 23rd at Oktoberfest, so maybe this isn't worthy of being bitchy about anyhow. I had thought that it would be drawn over this past weekend, but if it was always expected to be the 3rd week of September, then I'm wrong.

Regardless, I'll take my 2013 M5 now, please....

Its tempting but I'm cheap so it feels like I'm throwing away $100. Plus, I've only ever won one raffle in my life...a set of brake pads.

Drawing is always at Ofest. They draw one car each night, and if more than 5 cars, they draw multiple cars on Friday night. Back in the late 90's early 2000's one of the cars was won by a Houston member. So it's about time to do it again. Sorry ya'll, but I have the winning ticket, so leave my M5 alone.
